View Full Version : The Raptors scored 47pts in one quarter last night
Hey Yo

The 1998 Jazz scored a total of 54pts for an entire Finals game.
let that talent/competition differential sink in.

You're just looking at offense...You have to take into account that defense was much better back then. You had big man defensive stalwarts in the league like Pointy McElbows and Kneeball McGee. Absolute beasts on that end despite being slow footed and weighing as much as Richard Simmons. But they somehow managed though it may seem baffling to us as to how.

Even watching the 2010 finals, the offenses look fairly decripit.

You have to be seriously out of touch with reality to make comments like this tbh.
That's like comparing scientists now to scientists from 1998. Does that logic make any sense to you Hey Yo?

what was truly amazing was prime pip missing half the season with brokebackitis and a 35 year old jordan leading the bulls to 62 wins, the 3rd ranked defense, while winning mvp, scoring title, and finishing 4th in dpoy.
but don't let the facts get in the way of a great story.
Yup. The talent disparity is huge. We have sweaty africans running around in the league now guys like siakam ibaka giannis etc. MJ went up against middle-aged white guys like stockton and ducked the only african of his era in hakeem.

everyone knows that these rules exist only to protect domestic players. the league saw what happened to american whites how they got surpassed and lapped tenfold by the european whites, and while the concern is much less they are still worried for domestic african-americans. especially now that you have sweaty foreign africans taking over the league.

this is litrally the only era where this starting lineup
ibaka
onunoby
siakam
mccaw
lowry
can score damn near 50 in a quarter.
litrally the only one.
10 teams played that same night. 5 scored more than the raps (nuggets topped the night with 128 points in regulation. night before the rockets had 139 and the clippers 134. all in regulation). raps scored nearly 50 in a quarter and it was only good for a middle of the pack performance in one day in the nba. no one batted an eye.

They could push ads, biased commentary, biased refs, shitty shoes, rigged games, fake accolades BUT...
They couldn't doctor the footage. We have the footage of the incompetent, clumsy, baboons who littered the league in the 90s. And it is ****ing hilarious. Therefore, when viewed through an objective lens, we can see the 90's for what they really were: Trash.

Yet Pip was named All-NBA on both sides of the court that year in only 44gms played.
Either Pip was absolute shit with his "brokebackitis" or that the league was that watered down that the voters had no other valid choice to give those All-NBA nods to, other than a guy who only played 44gms

44 is still less than all of those other players, significantly less in many of the cases you listed....So you're going on record stating that Scottie Pippen is on the same level as the likes of LeBron, Kawhi, and Curry as a player? Damn

a dude who can't drive right is putting up nearly 40 ppg... and that's the type of defense he's sees on a nightly basis. the jazz gifs are from last year's playoffs.

he was consistently in the 29-30 ppg range pre FOM rules. change happens, all of a sudden he's pushing 40... at age 30+.
