It's just different times op. And no IT'S NOT YOU.
You probably grew up before the internet got really popular, and before social media, such as Facebook. With the constant posting about every single detail of someone's life, and trying to get likes. Too much information overload, that drive of seeing your loved ones is not the same.
Back when you were a kid you would get together with your cousins, and their parents, who you probably hadn't seen in weeks, or maybe even months. The get together was more exciting, the anticipation much higher.
Now everybody is "too busy." They were too busy back then too, but the anticipation was much higher, so they put that to the side because getting together was a dopamine boost. Now that dopamine boost comes in the form of likes.
I can tell by your posts that you're an old soul and prefer real face to face time with your friends and family.

Social media destroyed everything.
It's only good to arrange get togethers for old school mates and such.
I can't think of a single positive thing that social media has contributed to the world.

It's really sad.
I remember spending holidays with cousins and extended family as a kid.
Social media, narcissism, individualism, etc...the beauty of the American family is dwindling.
Or maybe it never existed and I'm just nostalgic or ignorant.
I think social media is making people socially inadequate.
Hell, I dated a girl years back and she was so off mentally from the text and social media phase that she'd text me when I was in the same room with her and refused to talk if she was upset.

Who knows Justin. Maybe it never existed but at least there was the illusion it did and people would go along with it.
So you don
