Not even for gifts you spent a lot of time on whether it be making something or trying hard to find something. Some people not even a fb message just to say they got it.

Not expecting a card but you can

I only got two gifts for one friend. Nothing else for my other friends.

For family: My sister, my mother and my dad. Of course my wife. My mother in law and father in law. My wife's nieces and nephews (there's about 6-7 kids) we purchased gifts only for the kids. My dad's sister, a household gift.

I skipped out on my immediate bosses and supervisors this year and coworkers since I practically work by myself and I'm technically still new.

My wife got gifts for her secret Santa at work and her immediate boss.

All in all for Christmas we spent about $1500-2000 on ourselves and everyone listed above.

Shit is crazy. My credit card bill and hers are $5k alone for this month because we booked our trip to Hawaii.

Christmas should only be for the kids and parents.

I don't think you should expect thanks, but yeah people should thank you for giving them a gift. It's the first thing I do when someone gives me a gift. Then, I tell them they should not have because I do mean it - I do appreciate it but I am not materialistic person. I am pleased with whatever I do have.

I also don't get very giddy with excitement. I'm just not a very emotional guy so it shows less appreciation even if that's not my intention. My 'thank-you' is very even-keeled with a tiny smile. Again, shows a lack of gratitude and appreciation but that's not my intention. :confusedshrug:

Not expecting a card but you can’t send a text or message? Anything?

What exactly are people so busy with now that they weren’t 15 years ago? I don’t get it. Technology makes things more efficient.

But you’ll post pictures on FB and say happy holidays to ALL. But who are you talking to? You can’t even send a thank you message. Even after you’ve been asked if you received the gift and no response.

What is it with people these days?

I see that as well....
My step kids , never said a word to me , when my mom passed away.
Trust me I am old school, and when that happened , they lost an inheritance.
ITS CALLED BEING RESPECTFUL... and not thanking someone for a present(gift) will never see another one from me.
Problem is in this society 'me first mentality rides sky high'

Excellent decision. These types of actions are what it takes for generation Charmin to "get it". :applause:
