View Full Version : Is MJ's game outdated for modern, complex era? Long elbow 2s and weak 3s?

If you remove his WNBA 3-pt shooting years (95, 96, 97) he is a career, as in 1,000 attempts, career .283% 3 point shooter.

Would his dinosauresque skill set mesh in the modern era?

MJ didn't have any volume most years, so his 3-point percentage means nothing - he took less than 1.5 attempts nearly every year

the only numbers that matter are the years he had volume - what's his numbers when he had volume or in the playoffs?

Also, MJ is the only goat-level athlete that was also a great shooter from either midrange or 3

Other goat athletes like Wilt, Dr J, Lebron, Giannis can't say that

goat shooting ability + goat athlete = fits in any era = goat

I realize that LeBron lost a game 5 months before the playoffs and because of it a number of incredibly lame people made literally over 70 topics of repetitive bullshit but we don

OP is right, Jordan should have driven into the paint with a stiff arm, done kick out passes when locked up, developed a wonky side step 3 and not bothered on D to be more offensively efficient. Had MJ done this he may have won more than 6 rings.
