View Full Version : Is a Finals loss 1 loss per year (3/4 rounds) and a 1st round loss...

4 losses? 0/4? Think about that.
Each playoff is 4 rounds. A Finals loss means you won 3 of 4 rounds and you only lost 1 round.
But, a first-round loss means you lost all four rounds (0/4). If everyone is getting so caught up on losses.
1st round defeat = 4 round loss
Finals defeat = 1 round loss
I refused to punish somebody for advancing further into the playoffs round. Especially when we do not punish the people for losing earlier even more. It makes no sense and I'm going to change this.

Playoff wins vs Eastern teams after 2012 should count as 2 losses each though.

Honestly, you can't really count those eastern conference wins (making the finals) as really helping his resume in a truly objective way.
When he faced similar competition, he generally lost. Luckily for LeBron, that was only in the finals and vs the Celtics in 08, 10, and 12 when healthy (though by 2012 they were pretty damn old).

I included the 12 Celtics, even though they were old. That is pretty much it. The 07 Pistons were ok, but not really a great team, though the accomplishment was decent enough at that point in LeBron's career. The rest is a big old "Come on man" right back at you.

I'm not sure I should bother engaging with you based on the normal stuff you say, but if you are trying to look at things objectively (and sincerely), you'll have to conclude that LeBron either doesn't have a great resume because his teams weren't very good (and he wouldn't have made it out of the West very often if at all) or that his teams were good but he just couldn't get it done when it mattered most.

good idea lets look to losses and see
playoffs is 4 rounds
1st round exit = 0 wins in 4 rounds = 4 losses (0/4)
missing playoffs = 0 wins in 4 rounds = 4 losses (0/4)
losing in 2nd round = 1 win in 4 rounds = 3 losses (1/4 win rate)
losing in ECF = 2 win in 4 rounds = 2 losses (2/4 win rate)
losing in Finals = 3 wins in 4 rounds = 1 loss (3/4 win rate)
winning chip = 4 wins in 4 rounds = 0 loss (4/4 win rate)
stick with me
mike vs bran for fun
mike has
(2) misses playoffs = 2*4 = 8 losses (02, 03)
(3) 1st round exit = 3*4 = 12 losses (85, 86, 87)
(2) 2nd round exit = 2 * 3 = 6 losses (88, 95)
(2) 3rd round exit = 2* 2 = 4 losses (89, 90)
(6) Finals no exit = 6*0 = 0 (91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98)
totals is 30 losses
bran has
(3) misses playoffs = 3*4 = 12 losses (04, 05, 19)
(0) 1st round exit = 0*4 = 0 (data not available)
(3) 2nd round exit = 3 * 3 = 6 losses (06, 08, 10)
(1) 3rd round exit = 1* 2 = 2 losses (09)
(6) Finals exit = 6*1 = 6 losses (07, 11, 14, 15, 17, 18)
(3) Finals no exit = 3*0 = (12, 13, 16)
total is 27 losses...
stick with me...
but wait
they played different number of seasons
lebran had 27 losses in 16 seasons = 1.6875 per season
mike had 30 losses in 15 seasons = 2.000 per season
bran had less in more seasons
mike had more losses in fewer seasons
there it is folks
mike really did lose more. finals losses > 1st round losses

we hear 6 finals losses a lot tho
now the numbers are up and mike looks in trouble again
he did lose more. there is facts in only making 6 finals, that means he lost many years

LeBron gets penalized by egregious haters for carrying soup cans to the finals and inevitably 'losing' to all-time stacked teams like Warriors and Spurs
that's how you know LeBron is GOAT, because the only narrative they can cling to is complete nonsense that nobody would ever buy into... desperate bums

And when a player wins the championship along with fmvp against 4 other guys that also won chip/s with fmvp against him but on different teams during some other finals series, it doesn’t really matter that much. :lol
How many times has the clown lebron been on the most stacked team and most expensive team in his conference for all his finals trips? 80% of them? 90%?
