Kobe during most of his career (albeit post achilles 2 seasons) was above the league average of what other stars were putting up TS% And FG % except he had even more shots. So you lose :oldlol:

You seem to be saying that Tatum is a weak shooter. If that is the case, and Kobe has the same TS, then that means:
a) Kobe is also a weak shooter.
or
b) Kobe was a chucker.
Take your pick.
If you are not saying that Tatum is a weak shooter then by all means please clarify your position.

Kobe retired just 4 years ago. Let's not pretend that he played in the 80s.
Let's go back 10 years. Durant and Lebron averaged 30 ppg with a TS of 60%. Where was Kobe?

Even if Tatum or Kobe are "weak shooters" by whatever metrics you want to use, results matter. On that end there are no results to speak of in Tatums career, not in comparison to Kobes.
His shot selection should be a legitimate concern to people because he isn't at the level of a Kobe and never will be. So he would need to be even smarter. I don't know if I've ever watched a player that has the "going to be a superstar" green light type of game wildly brick so many shots, and I'm talking badly. The guy is talented but is for whatever reason he insists on taking and bricking horrible shots. It's pretty bizarre.

Luka is breaking records because, aside from chucking 3s, he plays like LeBron. He doesn't resemble Kobe at all. He rarely shoots from midrange.

Kawhi and giannis already have been in the league for years. Their shot selection has already been established before working with KoMe.
Young guys like Tatum and Luka are more likely to pick up Kobe's chucking habits. If you have another explanation for Tatum's big drop in efficiency after his rookie year, feel free to share.

Actually it is perfectly understandable. His shot selection got worse after working with Kobe.
Hmm, I don't know if you're serious and if so that that is actually a legitimate response to his shot selection. He has trainers a coach and other players he works with on a daily basis with his current employer, the Boston Celtics. Unless you think he's too dumb to take instruction from them and is like "but Kobe said last summer...".
Doesn't sound realistic. On the other hand I'm of the opinion someone who is very talented trying to realize the limits of those talents and how to use them but clearly has an affinity for some low percentage shos. He's also been on a winning team which may legitimize in his eyes his playing style or abilities given he's one of the top scorers on the team. He could get a lot from watching a guy like Hayward who to me has always had a smooth game and never really forced the action over the years.
