View Full Version : Rookie/Soph MJ lost 3 series as the 8 seed vs 1 seed...

That's the biggest argument against him?
(and he never got locked down like say, Giannis or Lebron at the same stage... he always dominated despite losing as the massive dog)
Damn he lost 3 first round series in 2 years? He was SUPERNATURALLY bad without Pippen

1/3 of MJs career he was losing in the 1st round or missing the playoffs entirely :lol

MJ was injured in 86' regular season
keep in mind that Giannis and Lebron were locked down at the same stage AS HEAVILY FAVORED 1 SEEDS, while MJ always dominated despite losing as the biggest underdog possible (8 vs 1 seed)

Let's see who shot worse on jumpers at the same stage - Giannis or Lebron:
Giannis 19' ECF....vs. Champs - 23/14/6 on 44.8 fg.. 23.7% on jumpers
Lebron. 07' Finals vs. Champs - 22/7/6.. on 35.6 fg.. 17.9% on jumpers
Looks like Giannis wins... while also being the superior rim attacker and naturally stronger down low... LeOverrated
too easy

No, but it equals the stupidity of most of your arguments against Lebron.

with MJ and Lebron, it's a clash of styles, and MJ's proved vastly superior
that's my main argument
my favorite argument however, is that Lebron's narrow skillset (no off-ball, no post dominance, slow decision-style) doesn't apply more pressure than it's facing at the championship level, so opponent are always fresher with more capacity to go off.. Losing the attrition battle at the championship level (3/9) is the end result of all the problems with "Lebron-ball" (low ball movement, teammate marginalization, solvable brand).

Virtually everyone agrees that MJ was better than Lebron...
Where your arguments fall apart is when you claim there are 15 better players than Lebron.

We know what you believe, but you are too biased to have a real conversation when it comes to Lebron...and make terrible arguments that ignore basic facts.
So all the arguments you hate when it comes to Jordan...just know that is what you look like in reverse.
Talking about 3/17 or whatever...absolutely no difference between that and noting that MJ couldn't do shit without an all-time great by his side.

Lebron is 3/9 with all-time greats by his side.. multiple at a time
MJ was 3/3 with 1 so-called all-time great... that's better than Lebron's entire career.
and yes, the goat skillset (MJ/Kobe/Kawhi/Durant/Bird/Curry off-ball skillset) is indeed 18/24 in the Finals, while the lesser skillset (Lebron/Westbrook/Harden) and whoever else I said is 3/17

Again, notice here...
You default to comparing him to a guy almost everyone thinks was better.
Just notice how you do that.
Just for a minute...apply the same standard to Durant. He's played with all-time greats virtually every year of his career....and a level of help Lebron has never touched.
Yet he's better because he's 2/12 or something?

Durant was the best player on what many think is the goat team
Lebron isn't capable of that kind of team - his skillset results in lower team ceilings that fall short of championship level, regardless of cast - he had better casts than curry/klay (wade/bosh/allen and kyrie/love), yet he didn't do what Durant did.. :confusedshrug:
Durant's higher team ceiling capability is due to his superior style of play - again, same as with MJ - it's a clash of styles with off-ball MJ/Durant and on-ball Lebron... and the off-ball skillset (while still being great on-ball and better shooter/scorer) is simply much better than Lebron's oversized cp3-level skillset
but hey - it's great that lebron can dribble for a long time and get 10 assists though.. I mean, that's really great.. I remember watching tim hardaway do the same thing

and why did Durant have the goat team
Again, the lack of consistency here is just hilarious. I can't even get frustrated that a human is capable of this anymore...it is just funny.

that was a half sentence that I deleted - it meant nothing - you can't respond so you're highlighting half-sentences that were part of another argument and didn't get deleted in time.. quit deflecting

Dude, you go in on Lebron for only winning with loaded teams...then praise Durant for doing what you kill Lebron for? Even worse...Durant joined a much better team.
Again, you aren't consistent or logical or fact based....so you shouldn't be taken seriously.
Haven fun...

And he actually tries to argue that LeBron's supporting cast on the Heat/Cavs were better than Durant's on the Warriors :oldlol:

Dude, you run away from all our debates once your BS tactics fail.

You: Durant is better
You: Lebron only won because he joined Wade/Bosh
Me: But Durant joined an even better team

What makes Curry/Klay a better team than peak Wade/Bosh?
please don't say 73 wins because in the playoffs, Curry sucks compared to the regular season and the Warriors aren't championship caliber (would've lost in 2015 if Kyrie was healthy, and they were infact underdogs to the Cavs in the pre-season and pre-injury)
so Durant turned them from a non-championship team to the goat team - that's way better than anything Lebron did

What makes Curry/Klay a better team than peak Wade/Bosh?
Nothing actually.
But just Draymond Green....let alone Iggy...make it a clear cut better situation to join.
And the notion that any of those Heat teams outside of 11 could have even sniffed the Finals without Lebron...is a joke.
Again, the Warriors made the Finals last year without Durant...again, think about that. Imagine if one of Lebron's teams was as good as the Warriors were pre-Durant...then he joined them...then they made the ****ing Finals without him.
:confusedshrug:
But, like, do you actually want to be taken seriously? You actually think the team Lebron joined in 2011 was as good as the Warriors team Durant joined? You really believe that?
