Did MJ's inconsistencies in success hurt his divided legacy? He seemed to either win a chip or get swept in the 1st round, which is very polarizing. Let's dive into the numbers to find who were the most consistent players of all time. First we need to look at playoff appearances to make consitency ratings more fair. We also need to look at where their peak success landed them for each playoff run (12 playoffs minimum). We also need to associate each round of peak achievement with a figure.

Peak success = points rewarded
1st round = 1 pt
2nd round = 2 pt
3rd round = 3 pt
4th round = 4 pt
4th round win = 5.5 pt

MJ: 13 playoffs
Peaks
1st round: 3
2nd round: 3
3rd round: 2
4th round:
4th round (win): 6

LBJ: 13 playoffs
Peaks
1st round: 0
2nd round: 2
3rd round: 2
4th round: 6
4th round (win): 3

Peak succes Avg + point total
LBJ: 3.88 avg (50.5 pts)
MJ: 3.69 avg (48 pts)
KAJ: 3.55 avg (64 pts)
Kobe: 3.3 avg (49.5 pts)
Shaq: 3.07 avg (49 pt)

The "peak success average" figure shows who was the most consistent of all time. For reference, if LBJ suffered a 1st round defeat this year he would fall to 3.61 (just below MJ's 3.69) but as of 13 to 13 playoff runs LBJ is still the most consistently successfully player of all time. LeGAGOAT

lol

Should it have been 5? I gave a pts bump for people that would argue consistency issues.

MJ's career ia very divided and lacked consistency.

Mods?

Please wipe your tears and reply

In 15 seasons MJ did:
5= 1st round exit or miss
6 = Finals

Thats not divided?

True. And everyone will be scared to refute it because it's just factual information. Michael Jordan had a very divided career.

15 seasons
Playoff game wins:
6 seasons = 24 games
5 seasons = 1 game

It's almost as if Pippen's presence completely changed the trajectory of MJ's career.

24 wins with, only 1 without?

That's simply too glaring to be a coincidence.
