Spanoulis is the new EuroLeague scoring king!

The Turkish Airlines EuroLeague has a new all-time scoring king, none other than Vassilis Spanoulis of Olympiacos Piraeus! After tying the record with a hanging layup late in the game, Spanoulis swished a step-back triple with 2 minutes, 39 seconds left to give him 4,155 points for his career, surpassing the previous all-time scoring mark of 4,152 set by Juan Carlos Navarro of FC Barcelona. Spanoulis, 37, would score for 14 points in the game and a career total of 4,157, the most by any player in EuroLeague history and a number that he stands to keep raising with each passing game.

Spanoulis is EuroLeague's career leader in several statistical categories. Earlier this season, he passed Navarro to have the highest accumulated performance index rating ever, which now stands at 3,941. He is also the all-time EuroLeague leader in assists, with 1,483, and in free throws made, with 1,078. On Thursday, he also moved up to second all-time with 473 three-pointers, behind only Navarro's 623.

And no one gives a shit, because he spent his entire time here hiding under his bed from JVG, literally crying to his mama. Facts.

The only possible way you can even become the all time Euro scoring leader is if you were never even good enough to escape it and played your entire career there in the first place.. Seriously.

Van Gundy was fired right after the season he benched Spanoulis, and he never worked as a head coach in the NBA again. Also, the Rockets have not won an NBA title, or even made an NBA Finals since Spanoulis left them.

Meanwhile, Spanoulis has won 4 European championships....

 Like they were even close to a Finals with him. Actually won more games after the 2007 season and have been one of the 5 best teams in the league the past 5 years. Tell me how well Olympiacos is doing . :(

Could've been a perennial all-star here, but was never given an opportunity.

Manned up and left instead of being abused with politics and rigged league.

All the good/great Europeans went to the NBA (Petrovic/Radja/Sabas/Sarunas/Dirk/Pau/etc) because they knew it was the best league in the World. Same with the good/great talent in Europe. None of them stay long enough in the Euroleague to accumulate stats.

The records are equivalent to college records nowadays. No one good stays 4 years to get the career stats.

What politics?..

Same politics that prevented Yao from being a HOFer..

The guy ****ing sucked in the NBA plain and simple. Trust me all Rockets fans had high hopes for him.. Yet He was a undisciplined dud, that cried his way the hell out of here. Post proof he didn't.. the guy was a egomaniac overseas, who learned VERY quickly he couldn't cut it here, and caught the first thing smoking across the seas with his tail tucked between his legs... crying to mama.

Spanoulis, like many others, is a great basketball talent in janitor's body.

When you watch him play and see the way he moves and his jumpshot, it's pretty obvious why he's unable to get a shot off against superhumans.

He's more suited for FIBA ball.

Didn't you say the Spurs wanted to sign him prior to last season as proof for his greatness? How did that turn out?

is Euroleague gonna build a statue for him yet just like they did for their previous GOAT, the colossus of Euroleague Anthony Parker?

The NBA is a brotherhood of racists.

And this racism is implemented against players that need to handle the rock to showcase their skills.

Yao is a dumb ass example for many reasons, but I won't waste my time with a racist like you.
