Yes it’s very sad for the wildlife but also the people of Australia as well.

I hope their government will do a great job cleaning this up and maybe the US can help them out as well.

For starters none of the affected areas have had back burning done for years, this is important to prevent this type of thing happening. On top of that there's a lot of politics with the fire fighters and govt right now. There have also been a large number of fires in Australia that have been deliberately lit. It's insane.

https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/national/queensland/dozens-of-firebugs-blamed-for-destructive-queensland-fires-20191220-p53m1i.html

A 16-year-old boy found to have started a fire that razed 14 homes in central Queensland and dealt with under the state's Youth Justice Act.

Two more teens, 14 and 15, were charged with endangering property by fire over a blaze that destroyed two homes and forced hundreds to flee.

More than 120 fires are still being investigated and more people could be charged.

The firebug revelations come as fire crews continue to face challenging conditions as a strong upper ridge sweeping across the south-east combines with fresh east northeasterly winds on Friday.

When these ****ers are caught, they just need to be thrown into the fire they started.

Worked and lived in Australia for 5 years and plan to go back. I love Australia but by far they expect the most for doing the least work. I’ve had agreements from multiple other nationalities on this as well.

They’ve had five prime ministers since 2013. I agree with the guy going on about high home prices (negative gearing) but that’s happening everywhere and Brisbane has developed massively since his parents lived there. I think it’s the best city Australia has in my opinion.

The government running everything simply wasn’t sustainable and is an old 70s style labor policy. The world isn’t like that anymore.

You don't even know my thoughts on domestic immigration, but you'll take my imagined response and extrapolate it to Australia's..........a region that I have little to no understanding of....

The only thing I've spoken on here concerning the border is the absurdity of building a billion dollar wall (fence) that can be bypassed by a f'n shovel or ladder. But, stupid people are easily fooled by people shuffling papers or digging holes/building fences. Gotta earn that paycheck.

Other than that, I'll treat the patient that's in front of me. I don't give a shit where he's from and it's not my job to find out.

I am almost certain I've heard almost verbatim claims from you about American's work ethic. Seems everybody is lacking in your eyes.

I'm not going to go around with you on your views on government again. They're nonsense in my eyes.

Fire departments, roads, healthcare......they are all aspects of daily life that are necessary for a strong, healthy society.

Meaning, we all need to pay in and those of us that can afford to pay more will need to pay more. Government is the only way to sort that out.

By all means, bring up a post where I've said that.

Shouting generic things like, "big business, big corporations, all for a profit" is not intelligent. The idea that making money is somehow evil is nonsense. Australia has way more government involvement than the US and he's still going on about it - looks like all that government involvement isn't helping much per your statement.

What is the exact amount that someone should be paying? Please be exact. Vague statements like "those of us that can afford to pay more will need to pay more" is just a way to continue to increase taxes behind some holier-than-thou virtue.

You're right, it is unintelligent. Who said that?

Unchecked business and unchecked capitalism is highly problematic and highly cancerous to a society. Unchecked greed. Nothing wrong with profit. If profit at the detriment to other's and your environment is what you seek then I'll happily state GFY.

If fvckwits could limit their greed a bit and pay back to the people/resources that they benefit from society would not be in the shithole that it currently is in. Paying back means repairing the damage to the environment that the corporation has done. Ah, but you view those corporations as entitled to those natural resources. They are entitled to unbridled profit. They have the God given right to earn at society's expense. They can chew up and spit out whatever residue is necessary because they bought and paid for the land first, eh?

This is a worldwide problem. Not one inherent to America or Australia.

Exact amount? This is again stupid. You're smarter than this so don't play stupid.

Percentages. Percentages that increase the more someone earns.

Whatever gets the job done. How's that for vague? The rate has to be tailored to the individual and based on what the community needs.

It's not a "give me an exact figure" type of question now is it?

and I'm not wasting my time reading through your old posts. If you feel you didn't say I'll take you at your word. It's of no consequence to me.

Have to know the numbers.

Can't get the results with no data to crunch.

How large is the community?
How healthy?
How are the roads?
Does it ice?
Is there a drought?
Are there weather hazards?

Questions such as these have to be answered and factored in the total.

Ideally as the community progresses and becomes healthier numbers go down.

Stands to reason a healthy community would require less aid, especially with regards to the heathcare aspect.

Then take into account the individual's income, expenditures, quality of life, expected cost of living etc.

Lotta work involved. It's doable.

You remind me of the early American settlers who felt it was their duty to "civilize the Indians with our culture." Or the British colonialists who felt it was the white man's burden to "educate the savages" in Burma and India.

America is a melting pot with disparate regions full of differing cultures, values, lifestyles, viewpoints. The only thing America guarantees to everyone is freedom.

Many people do not want your large federal government dictating all your views upon them. But you feel that's how it should be.

You feel Loco's views must be forced upon all Americans, no matter their values. If they don't think socialized health care for a melting pot of 360 million unhealthy people is logical, you dont give a ****. If they fled countries because the central government had too much power, you dont care.

Loco knows best for EVERYONE. And people who dont want Beta Orourke or Bernie Sanders deciding their lives for them simply don't know any better. But Loco knows. He knows how everyone else should live, and he knows that he should decide who is put in charge of them.

You know, your self unawareness astounds me sometimes.

You think you're one thing.

And you are the COMPLETE opposite of it.

Time has eroded the specifics. Christian missionaries bringing the teachings of the cross to the uncivilized is out. Hipsters in ironic suspenders bringing massive federal government to those who haven't attended freshman philosophy at community college yet is in.

Aren't you like middle aged or older?

And you're still a cringey, wannabe hippie?

You're still this guy?
