Shaq/Penny and Magic/Worthy > Kawhi/PG13

so tougher comp than what Lebron faces this year

otherwise, you can't compare the teams from the Big 3 vs. Big 3 era to teams from a Big 2 era like the 90's...

obviously, if you gave the 98' Jazz a 3rd star like Lebron's teams had, they'd destroy any team from this era - they already swept Shaq's 4 all-star lakers with just Stockton/Malone and no 3rd star

The Kemp led Sonics lmao...

meanwhile LeBron faces Duncan/Durant superteams more times than not in finals...

God damn Jordan's resume is so incredibly bad.

it was a 2-star vs 2 star format back then

so you shouldn't expect the on-paper talent of mj's opponents to compare to Lebron's opponents.. but Lebron had his own Big 3 and therefore only faced talent deficits in the 07', 15' and 18' Finals.

this is common knowledge

no, Lebron had prime kyrie and should've won that year

his cast was superior:

kyrie/love > curry/klay

:confusedshrug:

And
the pre-KD warriors weren't championship caliber (15' bron would've won if Kyrie is healthy) - so KD turned a non-championship team into the goat team....

so KD > Lebron easily, even without considering how KD destroyed Lebron heads-up

Bulls had the 2 best players in the series, not counting Rodman who was FMVP

THAT was Jordan's 'GOAT' win.. hahaha

and 16, arguably 12, 13, and 14 too

but either way, ALL of LeBron's opponents were better than 96 Sonics by a big margin, including the Mavs

1996 FINALS

Pippen........ 15 on 34%
Payton........ 18 on 44%
Schrempf.... 16 on 44%

So Pippen had the worst 2nd option performance literally ever... he was easily outplayed by the Sonics' 3rd option

When did Lebron's 2nd option play that bad.. I'll wait..

And when did Lebron win with his 2nd option playing anywhere near that badly?... Otoh, Pippen had literally DOZENS of series like that - and MJ won basically all of them

Looks pretty good compared to 9ppg Stockton and 10ppg Hornacek, Jordan's 2nd greatest 'conquer' :oldlol:

Penny and shaq, payton and kemp and magic and worthy are as good as any duo that bron faced. Mj also only ever had one other scorer on his team. Bron has had 2 great scorers on both his championship teams. People will argue love because he hes not as good now but at the time he was one of the best scorers in the league.

96 Sonics if you ask me; they were stacked deep about as deep as the early 2000s Kings and Blazers

followed closely by the 98 Jazz, who clobbered their playoff foes, 97 Jazz, 96 Magic, one of the tallest teams of all time, a team that was actually taller than the Bulls but did not match their length, and then the 90s Knicks, one of the best defensive teams of all time

If Lebron couldn't win with 34/10/8 on 52% in this era... imagine MJ.

I think there is a slashing type player of a similar skill set that faced Lebron in the east for years.. Can't think of the name though. That'd be a good gauge.

I think part of Jordans competition not being "tough" is because they lost to him routinely. So it was the opposite of the everybody eats era where either

a) your peers are closer to you/you haven't separated yourself from the rest of the league like MJ did
b) your competition gets tougher by your inability to beat them

If Jordan was 2-4 in the finals instead of 6-6 I'm sure people would speak differently about how "tough" it was for him to win. Of course it would be, that's what happens when you lose more often than you win on the big stage.

Winning to the degree that you make it look easy eliminates a lot of the toughness factor that people on the outside have looking in.

It's the same thing for people saying Lebron beat the greatest team of all-time. They appeared to many to be because they had the greatest regular season record of all-time. But in no way do I think that means they were worse after getting Durant. Anyone with half a brain knows they were better, but the way in which they won and revolutionized the game made them look like unbeatable juggernauts when they were in fact 1-1 in the finals against CLE and dare I say would very well be 0-2 if Lebron had Kyrie and Love. That to me is not the "greatest team of all-time".

So overall, yes, winning a lot makes things look easy and losing a lot while winning some makes things look hard to those lacking perspective

Yes.
Jordan played a lot of games vs the toughest ever - Pistons, and finally the Bulls beat them in route to its first Finals. When Bulls become champions the hardest games were versus NY Knicks in Eastern conference - in the Finals the Bulls were more dominant and never played Game 7. The Jazz were the best team the Bulls met in the Finals.

Out of the 10 players you listed above, there's only 3 that made All-NBA that year.............. Shaq, Duncan (rookie) and Robinson.

That's only 1 more total than what Chicago had.

Not that impressive.

Besides Ewing, who did Chicago have to worry about scoring? Who was the other Knicks threats to go off for 20+ while playing very good D?

X-Man for 1 season and ?????

A team that scored 54 total points in a Finals game was the Bulls toughest challenge??

Just think for a moment.... the team above is just one of the teams that MJ was referring to when he said his 92 Olympic run so mentally and physically grueling. Which of course caused him quit the league a year later.

:facepalm

Just a severe lack of mental toughness.
