View Full Version : Doncic destined for the curse of "Lebron-Ball"

great offense in the regular season, but the long-dribble style ultimately doesn't shift defenses/wear down or apply more pressure than the ball-movement it faces at the championship level, so opponents are usually fresher with more capacity to go off, aka better (i.e. 14' Finals)..

Lebron-ball has never won the attrition battle at the championship level because the style turns teammates into spot-up shooters, which doesn't develop effective players/teams, thereby requiring ready-made stars/talent-based-winning via collusion/cheating.. he simply avoided the career-losing fate of other ball-dominators by colluding for the extra talent this style needs to win - expect Doncic to do the same and need additional stars/gm'ing than previous stars needed to win.

Doncic destined for 1-9
You need to be an 8 seed to qualify for 1-9 status

Will Doncic be an 8 seed?

Looks like he's a 6 seed and MJ beat the #1 SRS team with that and then nearly went to the Finals over a dynasty in the 89' playoffs..

So I doubt Doncic will nearly beat the Lakers or Clippers in the WCF while dominating with multiple 40-point games like MJ did to the Bad Boys in 89' and 90'... with zero cast of note

But we'll see (yes I know he's 20, but his age cancels out his considerable modern advantages)

Imagine if Luka is able to maintain his play in the playoffs and win multiple MVP's/titles

3ball's gonna devote the 2020's to Luka :oldlol: Although Giannis will certainly be in contention too

Luka will have all the playoff issues that Lebron and Giannis had - aka getting completely and embarrassingly locked down at a young age, and then failing to develop a team past a certain level in the playoffs (aka cp3/nash/pre-decision lebron, harden and other failed ball-dominators)

And btw, isn't Harden the one destroying everyone?.. He's the league MVP if Giannis is not.. So that tells you everything you need to know about where Kobe would be in this league.. Let alone MJ ..

MJ/Kobe would destroy today's format where they're supposed to KEEP the ball and make sure they get in the lane for a layup or kickout as the designed play, not a break of the normal format - they're supposed to get into the wide open lane for certain... I've seen Harden's slow ass fail to get to the wide open gap in time and then pull it back and try again, playground-style.. Again, MJ and Kobe would DESTROY THE LEAGUE with that format.. see Kobe in high school - it would be like that all over again for him, but with far better spacing and teammates.

btw, when Doncic catches a 14' style beatdown in the playoffs, I'll be here to say I told ya so, just like Ingram

Only if they were in the Triangle offense to balance out their terrible decision making. They would and could never win a ring outside of the triangle. They were system players just like how Luka ball makes Luka and "Bran" ball makes bron

I doubt Luka is losing much if he has 4 of the 10 most talented teams of all time (as you've argued for) like MJ did.

I merely state the facts - i.e. spurs wore down the Heat with ball movement... Heat couldn't respond in kind, so the spurs were the fresher team - that's what happens in a 7 game series (teams get worn down) - just like the Cavs did to the frail Warriors in 16'

I have the aforementioned facts... now proceed with your excuses

Not sure how 3 chips, lots of accolades and crazy numbers is a curse but i agree that the way luka plays isnt the most optimal for winning.

Why do people keep posting Lebron's record in his last 2 finals? 1 win in 9 tries.?????

That would be 1/9. This is 1-9 as in 1/10, Michael Jordan's shameful 1st round record pre-Pip(PP).

So playing 18 total games in the 85-86 season after coming back from a broken leg and dumping 63 as "God disguised as Michael Jordan" is now being held against him?

You Lebron homers sure are reaching. Yeah, Mike didn't win a lot with Orlando freakin' Woolridge as his best teammate. :facepalm

Wake me up when Lebron wins his 4th ring. Hell Shaq, Duncan, Magic, many others all have at least 4. 3 in 17 years? Not impressed.

Orlando Woolridge should've been good enough to not only not get swept but make it past the 1st round and not only make it past but lose a competitive series in the 2nd round. Like the Bucks managed to do in '87 with ZERO all-stars. Also, interesting fact: MJ has beads for testicles.

Bran stans are honestly so out of touch with reality it's incredible.

However the one you're replying to just makes cringe sarcastic remarks to cope because reality doesn't favor Bran stans.

if lebron's 9 seeds had snuck into the playoffs as 8 seeds and faced the champs in 04', 05', or 19', they would've been beat worse than his high seeds got beat in 14' and 18'..

lebron only got past the 1st round with high seeds/good teams and got beat by record amount with those high seeds - if he had an actual low seed/lottery cast like MJ, he would get swept like he did

Kobe 3-peated in the triangle, so he's literally the best off-ball player ever after Jordan

watch the tape - Kobe averaged 30+ running the same routes as Steve Kerr (equal opportunity)

yes he broke the offense frequently because the offense requires a bailout shot-taker

the number of wins is irrelevant - if Lebron's 9 seeds made it as 8 seeds, they would've been swept the same way

answer this: who gets beat worse - Lebron's 8 seeded Lakers in 2019 vs warriors, or his 4 seed vs warriors in 2018?.... :confusedshrug:
