When all the myths and narratives are stripped away and we're left with just the raw 1v1 evidence....

I think it's pretty clear who belongs top 3 and who doesn't.

Useless skills. He can't slash or shoot from perimeter.

He was able to do both those things in that match up :biggums:

mj had higher peak (see stats above) and those are mj's moves

mj invented that shake move

only mj led the league in scoring from 96-98' primarily from the post - Phil said he was the best post player in the game

the triangle has a spot for dominant big man (Shaq, Pau) - and MJ was in that role... that's why Phil said mj was the best post player in the game

During the Bulls-Pistons series, the Pistons' 4th quarter policy was to double-team MJ every single time he touched the ball.. Here's an examle from Game 6 of 1989 ECF, starting at the 9 minute mark (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4W_0I82B18&t=1h21m11s) - MJ is double-teamed 10 of 13 times he touched the ball to finish out the game.. The 3 times he didn't get doubled were because he shot the ball immediately - here's all 10 double-teams shown in gifs:

Here's a video of MJ against Atlanta - he's double-teamed 12 of 13 possessions from the 6:40 mark to the 8:40 mark - the consecutive double-teams are shown in rapid succession:

2000 Shaq > any version of Jordan

Show me where 2000 Shaq commanded every-possession double-teams - literally 13 possessions in a row like I showed for MJ above

Show me where Shaq commanded that level of attention

I'll wait.

When you take away the smoke and mirrors and it's just about ball, MJ gets exposed.

Here he is getting his shit pushed in by a mutual fund investor:

It's pretty obvious to anyone who isn't a sheep that when you take away Stern, Nike, Mars Blackmon and the marketing gimmicks, MJ turns into just another nigguh who jumps high on the back of whom powerful white men can profit off of.

He was obviously doubled a lot

Just not as much as MJ

but most people won't realize this unless they watch the actual tape, which I provided above

btw, the link for Game 6 of 1989 ECF didn't work, but other versions can be found by searching for the game on youtube - and starting at the 9 minute mark of the 4th quarter, MJ is doubled every time he touched the ball... That's 13 straight times that he caught the ball - find something equivalent for Shaq and I'll believe the groupthink on this that Shaq was the most doubled player... otherwise, I'll go with the videotape over the groupthink
