To give you an answer, roids are used to build muscle.

My understanding is that they really help more with recovery. So when you are on roids you can train much harder and longer with less recovery. Pro athletics cant train forever, their muscles need to recover. I don't think roids would have that great effect on the NBA players unless they are recovering from injuries or playing a lot of games. Strength is not that important anymore, and it can make movement liking shooting harder.

recovery

and strength

strength is important to maintain STAMINA when playing against higher and higher competition

if you have to push super-hard when battling a guy down low, and another guy is stronger and just uses his forearm, then you'll tire way faster than the forearm dude.. and when you're open and it's time to put it back on the numbers (dawkins-style), you'll probably have to lay it up.. that's the difference.

If you've known any athlete's taking them youd know it pretty much helps in almost all aspects other then decision making. Ive trained and played with guys on roids and the results are insane. I get why someone would take them. Thing is they dont just help physically. They also help mentally because confidence goes through the roof.

Anyone on roids has a huge unfair advantage.

It makes you much stronger.

This kid should be in a wheelchair, but because he uses steroids he's much stronger. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skqAILCryV0

Makes you violent https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPR3RYP0Pbg

They give the athlete an unfair advantage, and more so than that it's very bad for your body in the long run. In this one the Wheels like character is concerned because of the effects that the steroids are having on the other Simon like character, so he tries to reach out for help.

This is some faulty logic. "Just makes you stronger and last longer"...

Fact is that if you took two players who are equal in skill, the one who's stronger will perform better of the two.

Take two players who are equal in skill, the one who can last longer on the court will be the one more valuable to a team.

Can't confirm if true, but I believe I've hard Joe Rogan say that if you had one guy only lift weights vs a guy who only does full cycle of HGH, the HGH user will come out many many times ahead in strength and muscle, that's how powerful added hormones are.
Now, you can do it at different levels in order not to completely break down your body, e.g like Rogan himself who takes HGH at an amount where his hormone levels is that of a 26-27 year old male and not the 52 years that he is.
