Just imagine this current Raptors team with Kawhi

he wouldnt even have to play 30 games in the RS:oldlol::oldlol:all hed need to do is wipe rust off and play games heading into the playoffs

FVV/Siakam both improved. Siakam is a legit star and top 15 player. FVV is emerging as one of the best PGs in the league. Raptors have OG this season while he was out last year.

Then a bunch of sick twoway role players like Davis (top 5 rookie, and already looking like a dangerous backcourt partner for FVV in the future), Boucher, Brissett, Norm.

Ibaka/Marc/Lowry still doing their things

Nurse has solidified himself as a top 3 coach maybe the best in the league

Raptors wouldve EASILY repeated with Kawhi and maybe a 3peat TBH.

Now hes at home........but at what cost? Playoff P is a chronic bedshitter in the playoffs and hes had an injured hamstring all year. Bev has also been injured alot. The cant hold the fort with injury issues like the Raps can. Theyre looking like a 4th or 5th seed and Kawhi will have to push more in the closing stretch and cant load manage

agreed

Toronto plays a superior brand of ball.. nurse > rivers regarding brand of ball

And they have a nice mix of effective players with better rim protection

And the city of Toronto can hold it's own with LA, but not everyone will realize this

Yeah, at this point Toronto is rolling, Clippers fading. Paul George did it again. :lol

Toronto is a better city TBH. Most metrics for years have supporting a higher quality living life there.

And it actually has seasons. LA is more of a travel destination IMO. Alot more negatives with it

Playoff p is a career loser and always injured why is anyone surprised.. as if kawhit even cares, he's in LA on a big contract I'm sure hell be just fine

I'd rather live in sunny LA with a max contract than blistering cold Toronto. **** the snow.

He’s got two rings and two finals mvps at age 28. I don’t think someone with that resume is that worried about adding to it at the cost of being happy with life. He has nothing to prove professionally. The rest of his career is just gravy. He strike you as someone terribly worried what ring counting fans rank him as when he’s 50? He’s on a team that can win....playing at home. It’s gonna snow 3 days next week in Toronto. It’s gonna be 86 in LA.

Hes probably doing ok.....

he got what he wanted - he's wanted to go home since his final days with the spurs. be close to his family and do what his family wants, they wanted him playing at home. I think its easier to make decisions like that when you already have a few wins under your belt.

I hope the clippers take the L this year but they're still too good. lets not focus too much on these games. you dont think guys like lou will and harrell want it? kawhi will definitely be ready to ball. I think they're ready to show out this year and it all lands on AD or giannis to shit on them - which they both can.

I hope kawhi takes the L though. I want lebron to get ring #4 and cement that legacy further. would be hilarious if the lakers shit on them.

would be nice to see beverly dunked on too a la jason terry :pimp:

Kawhi is the most babied player I've ever seen on here. We have dudes literally complaining that he has to play in the regular season, when he ALREADY picks and chooses which games to play, having the luxury to miss 20+ games a year and having his team still easily make the playoffs

And after he orchestrates a trade for a guy who was literally on the All-NBA First Team last year, and having TWO additional 20 ppg players off the bench, we have people actually questioning if his team has enough talent to win, even though he's on what's easily one of the 2-3 best rosters in the league

plus he got his ass carried by the spurs timmy manu parker coach pop's system surgical ball-movement and passing in the finals. green and mills also went off in the finals set records.

then he got his ass carried by nurse siakam/vanvleet/gasol/ibaka/lowry/powell etc

This. The Clippers are still probably the third best team in the league (behind Lakers and Bucks) and the reason he came to the Clippers was basically to be in LA, his hometown (if the Clippers didn't being him his friend Paul George, he would have went to the Lakers instead). He already has more accolades than most players do, at 28 years old, which is impressive since his first few years he was your typical "three and D" role player, like Trevor Ariza. He only really became a superstar after his 2014 Finals performance... he went from "three and D" to a top 5 player in the league in just a few years, which shows just how talented he is, as well as his bball IQ and how hard he has worked (though his load management has cost his team a few close losses, mainly the Hawks and Bulls).

He literally had the entire country of Canada behind him enroute to the championship last year. In LA he's just one of many stars across various sectors, but I think he's less concerned with his national profile than he is being home.

Odd thought: home court doesn't matter to the Clippers at all. Most of us are expecting the showdown between them and the Lakers and when it happens it will be like every game is a road game.

True. Even if the Clips moved to a different arena, in any game against the Lakers there's always gonna be a large contingent of Laker fans going against them. They're never going to have any real HCA in that situation. So they probably do have the philosophy that chasing the Lakers in the standings isn't a worthwhile goal, as long as they're ahead of everyone else.

Ridiculous. If you have money, theres no better place than California. Secondly, his family resides in California - I highly doubt anyone would think twice about staying away from their family and friends in California

Well, aren't a lot of athletes in LA in the off-season regardless? He's still on the road every season. I think he legitimately thought he would have a better chance at winning more titles in the long run as a Clipper.

Kawhi better understand that you cannot load manage in the tough western conference.

Kawhi always have a good coach, and a solid team through his nba career.

Maybe but I'm sure being close to home is more important to him. There is no better feeling than playing near your home.

I really thought he should of stayed. I mean, take nothing away from him, he was amazing in 2019 but the team around him complimented him perfectly in every way and you are seeing how good they still are even after losing their star. But at the same time, Kawhi can look Toronto fans in the eyes and say "hey, I did my job".

Kawhi never really wants to come to Toronto, but Raptors did their best giving him the best comfort and chance to play at his best when he contractually had to be there. Kawhi responded professionally. It worked and Kawhi and Raptors won the championship.

Now Kawhi can play where he wants to. Raptors also is a champion and still a contender with some Kawhi's championship mentality left behind.

I guess it was fair for both sides at the end.

Lol. I never thought of this. It could get crazy out here with some fan fights. Lakers fans hate Clippers fans, and there hasn’t even been any meaningful games played between those two.

Let’s be real. Staples center playoff fans are extra full of pretentious fake wannabe Kardashian’s staring down at their smart phones trying to act cool. There will be no fighting unless some trash wannabe gangster cholo vato Faker fans start something.

I am a Toronto fan, tbh in the beginning Kawhi doesn't even want to be in Toronto, it was part of a Derozan trade that got him to Toronto.

He helped Toronto to win a chip because he want to prove that his 2014 Spurs run wasn't a fluke, he want to be the leader that can lead a team to win a championship.

I mean he has his own decision is to go to his family hometown team and playing there, he will never regret this, doesn't matter how good Toronto is.
