I’ve seen some documentaries about our universe, more than one. And people are depressed that our universe will die of heat in 15 billion years. One number I saw was 2.8 billion. So we are taking way more than millions of years.

It’s not like its all going away in 50 years. You’re lucky to live past 100, so how is anything close to even a billion years not enough? I don’t understand it. Shouldn’t that be regarded as a good thing, that it’s gonna last so long? How is it sad? You’ll never be around long enough to see it all. Our lives are a blink in the eye but feels like a long time.

Are people seriously concerned about billions of years from now? Shouldn’t we be more concerned about today, tomorrow, and the next few weeks, months and years? If we are to be depressed about the universe not existing in 10 billion years then why not be sad about it not existing 20 years ago?

Isn’t it a little schizophrenic to worry about 10 billion years?

If you go missing one day, no one will care.

They're not sad because of the universe ending, they're sad because that's how long it's gonna take for you to finally be ****ing gone.
