the whole memorial was great. all the speakers definitely nailed it.

but the best quote from the day. the ABSOLUTE BEST QUOTE (no not the MJ crying meme)

"if you have a strong passion for something, you would go to the extreme to try understand/try to get it - either ice cream. cokes, hamburgers - whatever you have the love for"

:lol

GOAT gave the best Kobe memorial speech. By far.

What else is new?

Didn’t take it the narcissistic, egomaniac route about channeling Kobe through his body. And about how strong his shoulders were to be able to take it. Taking someone’s death and using it to compliment himself. Very classy.

People didn’t understand the HOF speech cause they’re morons. What was perceived as pettiness was insight into his insane internal drive where he maximized GOAT physical capabilities with GOAT motivations. To thus become the GOAT.

He even self deprecates. Narratives destroyed. Complimented what made Kobe great as a player and a person in the process.

Jordan and Kobe's brotherhood and love are genuine.
Same as Shaq and Kobe.

I still can’t believe Kobe is gone. They should do something to honor him and Gigi every 6 months. 2/24, 8/24.

The man that Kobe Bryant idolized and imitated since he was a kid just gave a eulogy at his memorial. Life is crazy

Since the video in the OP is not working, here's the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SEiGEbxv5M&t=4s

Great speech by the greatest of all time. Got a sense of just how close they were.

Funny how just today I was telling someone how this little kid keeps calling and calling me.

I didn't know they were so close. I'm glad Shaq got to speak. Obviously Shaq and Kobe weren't close but aside from Kobe's family I think Shaq took his passing hardest. Not even Lebron wasn't invited to speak, even though he got a Kobe tattoo

I'm glad him and Shaq were able to make Vanessa smile, even if only briefly, during these sad times.

I didn't know that Lebron didn't get an invite to speak at Kobe Bryant's memorial. That's mind boggling, considering the burden that he now has to carry after Kobe Bryant's tragic death. And that's not me saying it, people say this.

Lebron, brave and determined is up for this challenge of carrying this burden, saying, “God gave me wide shoulders for a reason.” For that he should be MVP.

How do we know that Lebron wasnt invited to speak?
Where was he, btw?

What was so eerie about this was the camera showing some of the past greats like Bill Russell, Magic, Elgin Baylor. For Kobe to have left us before all of them is crazy.

Was Lebron there? I've only seen MJ's speech and they showed Wade, Curry, AD and a few other recent/current stars.

The irony. Jordan is one of the biggest narcissistic pricks in NBA history.

You can pretty much say that about any all time great. LeBron is incredibly narcissistic, as was Kobe, as was Magic, and Bird, definitely Wilt, Kareem too, Shaq as well and so on.

I'm glad someone else found this as funny as me. You'd think he'd list some lofty pursuits, but nope. Just food.

It was a great, heartfelt speech though, despite that weird little blip

This has something to do with his childhood. I remember him once talking about being denied food or something like that.

So was selfish Scottie Pippen, your point? LeBron lacked self awareness and gave a tremendously narcissistic speech after another man’s death.
