Who had some of the worst stat padding years, putting up 28 ppg and under .500 in the wins collum? Sorry butTrigga Trae comes to mind.
He is at 30 ppg and under .500
The only other guy I know who did this is MJ in 87

why is the cutoff 28 ppg?
could it be because Lebron averaged 27 ppg but was under .500 last year?
and what about averaging 30/10/10 but getting beat by record amount... twice?
or could it be because Lebron averaged 27/7/7 in 2005, but missed the playoffs despite having the East all-star center on his team?..
Lebron's stats were actually better in 2005 when he was lottery than 2007 when he made the Finals - the difference was that the 2007 squad added a 22/5/5 all-defender and the COY - this explains the jump from 9 seed to 2 seed despite Lebron's weaker production.

Is MJ's 37 ppg with 40 wins in 87 the worst stat pad we've ever seen?

MJ has 2 years of 28 ppg and under .500
Empty stats
And he has one year of 35 ppg and under .500
Worst stat pad ever?

no, worst cast ever
otoh, Lebron has fantastic casts (29 ppg sidekicks) but loses by record amount... that's the goat stat-pad..

How do you average 37 and win 40 games? :lol :lol

No Pip, no Chip. Didn't Pip come in 88? I see...lol
So basically MJ was Bradley Beal in 87 before he got the PIPPEN STIMULUS

no, worst cast ever
but once he got a cast, he never lost, whereas Lebron lost many times with super-teams... lol
and MJ's "cast" consisted of a 18 ppg sidekick and the #7 team defense - MJ 3-peated with this - no one has done more with less
No Pip, no Chip. Didn't Pip come in 88? I see...lol
Lebron never had a sidekick as bad as 88' or 89' Pip - Pip cost MJ rings from 88-90' by sucking so bad

Therein lies the problem, your outrage isn't true to the good nature of this forum or discussion. It's just a product of "ah shit, Phoenix is butthurt in another MJ thread again" :oldlol: *delete*, next, yawn...

Those guys have no all-star teammates, all-defenders, good coaching, or good team defense
whereas 05-07' Lebron had Zydrunas/Hughes, the future COY and a top 5 defense... 09/10 Lebron had Mo/Jamison, the #3 defense, and the COY

That isn't really true, at least on offense. They have a lot of guys who can score. Before getting hit by injuries they were actually one of the league leaders in offensive efficiency. They have 8 guys averaging double figures.
Beal has just been on a chuckfest lately. This month he is averaging 26.7 shots per game. It is getting ridiculous.
Early in the year their offense was fun to watch. They had great ball movement and with so many guys shooting threes and attacking the rim they were lighting teams up. They aren't fun to watch now.

He's not going to be able to because he's trolling.
His definition of stat padding is so wrong, any star in a small market with a bad team is a stat padder.
How many small market players from 90s and 00s would fall under this criteria?

Jordan 85-89' (https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/j/jordami01.html#1985-1989-sum:per_game)... 32.6 ppg.. 1.9 oreb.. 4.3 dreb.. 5.9 apg.. 2.8 spg.. 1.2 bpg.. 58.9 ts.. 29.6 PER
Lebron 06-10' (https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/j/jamesle01.html#2006-2010-sum:per_game)... 29.4 ppg.. 1.2 oreb.. 6.1 dreb.. 7.1 apg.. 1.7 spg.. 1.0 bpg.. 57.6 ts.. 28.8 PER
MJ had better stats, but a weaker cast caused him to win less, and a stronger conference too
i.e. MJ's 33/8/8 yielded 47 wins in 89', while Lebron's 28/8/7 yielded 66 wins in 09'.. so lebron's stronger cast and weak conference allowed more wins despite less stats.
Jordan had a completely accolade-less cast from 85-89', while Lebron played with a 2-time all-star center (Zydrunas), and other all-stars like Mo and Jamison, and all-defenders Hughes and Varejao, along with the COY and top team defenses - MJ had none of this, so his superior stats yielded less wins.. lebron had a good cast relative to the conference, so he got high seeds every year from 06-10'
facts gonna facts

Weird list MJ is a part of.
He should pray to Pippen every day.
if MJ should pray to someone that he averaged 10-30 more than for every series of their careers while doubling his usage, then what should lebron do to his equal-scoring and usage teammates, aka Wade, Kyrie, and AD?
it's a testament to MJ's greatness that he could 3-peat with an 18 ppg sidekick and the #7 team defense - only MJ won so much with so little
btw, remember that only MJ had four #1 team offenses... With that in mind, I have a question for you - given that MJ had goat offenses with Rodman (4 on 5 offensively) and weak-scoring Pippen, wouldn't he have a juggernaut #1 offense with today's version of David Robinson (AD)?.. and wouldn't the juggernaut offense/superior brand of ball movement make these Lakers the perennial favorite that Lebron's brand could never achieve (but was always beaten by)?.. Like, everyone says that lebron is always the underdog in the Finals, but that's an indictment on him for failing to play the superior brand that would yield perennial favorites - he should have dominant teams like the spurs/warriors, but his brand prevents it... mj would have the perennial favorite with AD just like he had with the lesser Pippen - they'd threaten 70 wins FOR SURE
