About 50% through the story campaign after going through the sewers to the new location (zero?)

Dying Light is definitely a underrated gem and unique first person game, especially for a Zombie game. Loving it so far but kind of skipped to many side quests to progress the compelling story. The side quests I did do almost felt like mini campaigns themselves which was great.

Super immersive open world, while lots of locations like rooms and vehicles seem like color copies all over it's just dope that you can actually enter so many buildings.

The platforming for a FPS game is really good and fun, both realistic and far fetch arcady. If you were to blindly tell me to try a parkour zombie game I would have laughed but they really executed it perfectly. The day/night cycle is great, same with the progression system + perks.

My favorite part overall is the soundtrack though, who ever scored this game needs an award.

So far only a couple small things hopefully upcoming 2nd one can improve on. Graphically DL1 looks good but it feels like lots of early PS4 games with excessive bloom and motion blur. Neither which you can turn down. I wish games would scrap the chromatic aberrations and film grain, trying too much to make it feel like you're in a movie. The game dips and staggers in frames like early ps4 release too.

Characters are cool and unique, although the main character voice actor dialogue doesn't rly seem too convincing compared to a lots of the others who are in a state of panic and fear. The lockpicking is just meh, an artificial game extender not really strategic. Inventory UI gets confusing and could use an overhaul too. Other than that it's a really enjoyable single player and grabs you

Glad I got the Enhanced DLC version, can't wait to try the multiplayer afterwards

I always remember when I found the first gun. Every battle was a total struggle before that. Then you start blasting enemies away. Felt great.

then later finding the Katana and getting your grappling hook lvl'ed up all the way made you feel like a web slingin' samurai. such a fun game.

some of the npc have hilarious dialogue

my fav part are the challenges where you have to escort and protect the npc as they sprint around the map into hoards of volatiles :lol

went on a 48hr adderall fueled bender this wknd and knocked out nearly every available side quest, trial and challenge, with only a couple main chapters left. Well worth every bit of a $50 release price imo

If they scrap and reface the lockpick gimmick and tedious looting mechanics the upcoming sequel will be even better. It's a survival horror, but it's overwhelming with too much loot imo. Always staring at the ground or popping cabinets for supplies, molotov 25 zombie, time to check ever single corpse.. ugh.. 4hrs into Dying Light and my inventory was cluttered and already maxed, there's just too much that does too little. Cut 75% of the available map loot, scrap the lockpicking firewall gimmick and the upcoming sequel gets substantially better. Supplies need to feel scarce and rare in a zombie apocalypse. Felt like I was playing a Ubisoft looter shooter with the amount of weapon perks upgrades :lol

8.3/10 smash hit overall imo, endless hours of good content

cant wait to tap the DLC and Co-Op/PvP after I murk Rais
