"He (Lebron) has navigated a China controversy & maybe the biggest tragedy in the history of the NBA this season (Kobe's death). That's extra stuff that Giannis isn't going through..."
agenda never stops on the Jump

Giannis literally just trained with Kobe this past offseason. So because he didn't make a spectacle out of it like LeBron did, he isn't "going through" Kobe's death too? Pretty disgustingly ignorant.

It's true.
The circumstances LeBron is overcoming are just unreal.
Wilbon said it as well
Bron is his MVP now.

It's not an agenda at all.
LeBron giving that speech to Staples Center...right after Kobe's death...was an extremely difficult thing to do.
And in so many words has basically dedicated the season to Kobe. For the last month and change, guy has upped his level of play. To MVP status and beyond.

2015...
- Cleveland +20, Miami -17.
- 59-win pace when he plays vs. 19-win pace when he sat.
- Brand new team.
- Big mid-season trades.
- Best team after All-Star break (and maybe after Jan. 1 too).
- Less help than Curry.
No consideration at all. Media really pushed him...
2017...
- Cleveland on pace for 57 wins when he plays and 0-82 (misleading?) when he sits.
- Highest net rating swing of candidates.
- The team won much more than Westbrook's (#2 seed vs. #6 seed).
- Advanced stats as well.
Was not even a finalist. Media pushing Lebron again...
2018...
- Rockets on a 55-win pace in the 9 games with Paul and no Harden.
- Harden missed 10 total games to LeBron's 0.
- LeBron lost Kyrie, Harden gained Chris Paul.
- Kevin Love missed 23.
- Two MAJOR roster overhauls.
- Wins one less than 2017.
Media forcing Lebron again...
Michael Jordan got MVP votes in 1995 when he played only 17 ****ing games, I don't want to hear any shit about how the media is biased towards LeBron.
- all-star when he only played 3 games
- all-star in 02 and 03
- coming back into his last game so he could get intentionally fouled and shoot free-throws to lock up his 20 ppg for the season
nba was on mj’s nuts as much as they are bron’s. and that was before social media...

Not sure why the China controversy is a plus for him since he did a terrible, hypocritical job of addressing it.
The problem with this line of thinking is that it basically penalizes everyone else in the running because they didn’t have to go through those things and makes it impossible for them to have an argument no matter what they do. Giannis is literally having one of the greatest statistical seasons of all-time that from an advanced stats perspective is barely below the greatest, has been consistently one of the best defenders in the league, and is possibly going to lead his team to a top 5 record of all-time without another elite player. Seriously, what more is he supposed to do?:oldlol: is he supposed to magically be 35 years old and in his 17th season also?

This is ****ing disgusting. Are they really trying to use Kobe's death as a way to prop up Lebron's season? Really?
So, Giannis didn't have summer workouts with Kobe and wasn't mentored by him? Kobe wasn't the one who challenged him to win MVP ahead of the 2018-19 season?
Giannis Antetokounmpo made his NBA debut on October 13, 2013 at the age of 18 years. Kobe Bryant‘s sudden death completely destroyed him. He is one of the many players who are devastated by the news of NBA legend Kobe Bryant’s tragic death. The young Greek basketball player plays for the Milwaukee Bucks. He publically claimed that Kobe Bryant was his role model and mentor. Giannis Antetokounmpo trained along with Kobe Bryant ahead of the 2018 season. Which saw the former end up as NBA MVP while playing for the Bucks.
In the last couple of years, their student-teacher relationship was well documented. Giannis Antetokounmpo deleted all of his social media including instagram and twitter in mourning. This was probably because he needs time to process his mentor’s sudden demise. The Black Mamba inspired him immensly According to Giannis, he started playing basketball because of bryant.
Giannis Antetokounmpo speaks about the impact Kobe Bryant had on his life:
While talking about the tragedy publically for the first time, Giannis told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal,
“I grew up with Kobe,” Antetokounmpo said. “Kobe influenced my life. Looking up to him, one of the reasons I started playing basketball. One of the reasons that I am here today.”

Absolutely spot on. The mental effect and affect this must have on him, losing such a close friend.
Instead of crumbling, he's thriving and fighting. For Kobe, his brother.

Kobe challenged Giannis to win MVP last year and he challenged him to win a championship this year. Kobe didn't have a relationship with Lebron, outside of Lebron coming to LA to the Lakers and him endorsing him for PR reasons.

It’s an incredibly stupid take but ESPN seem to be all in on it (Windhorst and Nichols have also been saying this). Though that China part was even dumber (Should Morey be executive of the year for spearheading the China controversy?)
It says something that the argument isn’t being made from a basketball standpoint

Since 2014, there have always been guys that had:
1) a much better team record
2) better stats
You need at least 1 of 2 to get MVP
he wasn't MVP during his 2nd stint in Cleveland because he couldn't sniff 60 wins despite having prime Kyrie and Love
his great on-off and team record impact means little if his style doesn't yield a high team ceiling that can perform well in the championship - his Cavs weren't supposed to be ridiculously worse than the KD Warriors - Nick Wright infact predicted a Cavs victory in 2017

Indeed. Laker fans even with the recent stretch of no playoffs have it easy and don’t get it. Why should you be limited to just stanning towns and now Russell and maybe be a miserable fan for years. Doesn’t matter how much you love the NBA, people won’t watch a bad/mediocre team forever. Like I’m positive Hornets fans have some outside star they root for

AD won 48 games with the Pelicans and took the KD-Warriors to 5 games - both without Cousins - while Lebron won 51 games with a mostly healthy team and also lost to the Warriors in 5..
AD's 2018 > Lebron's 2017

LeBron beat a 73 win team with no other all stars
his roster was originally favored over Curry's Warriors in 2015 - they were the preseason and pre-playoffs favorites before the Kyrie injury..
so he had the more stacked team - they only became underdogs in 2016 because Lebron failed to flirt with 70 wins like his peers Kawhi and Curry.. again, low team ceiling despite having prime Kyrie - he should've won 65-70 with those teams
