One guy from one team who tested positive for the virus is already enough to suspend the whole league.

This is just the beginning. Remember that he might've already had the virus for up to 2 weeks and then think of how many teams he's played against during that period. Shit has the potential to spread like wildfire.

How long does it take to recover from this and how long are you contagious?

Contagious for up to 14 days.

Recovery time varies. Some may get very very sick & require a respirator/ventilator, some may feel like it's the flu & get better with rest within a few days. Older people past retirement age are the biggest risk.

The hysteria for an illness with a ~2% mortality rate is killing me.
The fact that it's super highly contagious is the main issue. I heard someone say that over 30% of Americans could end up having it (~100 million people). Even with a 2% mortality rate that's 2 million deaths right there which is fvcking huge.

The Spanish Flu in 1918 had a mortality around 2% as well, and it ended up killing more people than WW1 ...

What making it worse is the overreaaction in social media, trolls and misinformation.

Almost 70% of the total infected have recovered already. Why not highlight it instead of always putting the total # of case? it brings paranoia on people. :facepalm

They are always reporting new cases but aint even mentioning those that are discharge already from hospitals :facepalm effin main stream news media outlet :facepalm

Half of that is due to your godawful health care system and clueless government.

True, but there's always the chance of getting it again after you've recovered with how commutable it seems to be.

Chris Fedor: #Cavs medical people have been in touch with the Utah Jazz, sources tell @clevelanddotcom and their current belief — emphasis on belief — is that Rudy Gobert & Donovan Mitchell contracted coronavirus after their visit to Cleveland on March 2. Just add this to the list with ebola, Swine Flu, Sars and every other nonsense they duped us with to get vaccinated and actually have the virus afterward... These agendas have just spilled over into everything we love and enjoy now...

And thats where antibodies come in.

Thats the whole premise behind vaccines. If you get it and beat it, youre not getting it again unless it mutates into a stronger version.

And even then getting it early would be a blessing, because beating the beta will prep your defenses much stronger for beating the next version.

the 2nd or 3rd wave would have a much higher mortality rate amongst new infectants.

Spanish flu wiped out almost entire generation in 1920's and vaccination is the reason why there haven't been pandemic that big anymore. Those viruses are serious cases as well but some good, well-educated people have been working their asses off containing them for us dumbasses so we can shitpost online.

Properly educate yourself.

No its not.

Because most people that have died from it were old. If you took those outliers out, a young healthy male or female has a 99%+ chance of living.

Is that worth shutting an already faulty world economy completely down for?

It's the hospitalization rate that makes this dangerous, not the death rate. South Korea death rate will be about 1%, while Italy will be will be over 5% based on how they reacted.

Yeah no thanks. No apology will make up for what he did. Frenchie should get suspended for an entire season.

I read somewhere that if the virus was free to spread that America would need approximately 26 million hospital beds to treat it..
they currently have something like 990k. So 25 million beds short. That also doesn’t include probably the 2 million others that also need that 990k beds for other reasons

No way their healthcare could come close to coping with this
