Absolutely possible the season resumes in a few weeks when things clear up.
Also possible the playoffs do get played. They were scheduled to begin in 5.5 weeks.
Many possibilities.
This isn't just my idea, sitting here texting with other reporters, including a few who work for team websites and are having these sort of conversations right now with the teams.

I doubt it. If another player gets the virus its over for the year. After seeing Gobert rub himself everywhere this is very possible.
how do you figure it will be just a few weeks?

An NBATV host just said the exact same thing.
They could always semi-quarantine the players for a few weeks, and then play the playoffs as planned.
This isn't just me guessing, it's ABSOLUTELY possible.

They were planning to play the games as scheduled, but with no fans.
If they take a few weeks, and everybody is quarantined/etc. and nobody has symptoms in a month from now, they could play the playoffs, but with no fans at the game.

Jeff it might not be safe until October so let’s focus on hopefully being able to not have next season suspended.

My hope is this is a seasonal virus not dissimilar to influenza and the spring/summer will help halt this thing tremendously
All speculation, but in China, the more southern provinces had less severe outbreaks than projected based on travel metrics

Yeah its possible but not very plausible. Players are gonna be expected to self quarantine themselves but most won't. More players are gonna get it. The season is most likely over

I don't see why they can't play games in an empty arena. The WNBA does it.

What I don't understand is, why would the next thing, in this case the next season, get precedence over this one? What makes it more important?
Why not finish this season, whenever it is time to play again, no matter when? Its not like we're just 3 games in.
We're almost there.
It's just finishing touches now.
Can't skip or erase or cancel anything.
Just play it out, whenever the time comes.
March 10 until april 9 or so is gonna be boring.

They will be lucky to even start next season on time and AD is not guaranteed to stay.
