5 players were considered infected. The NBA instituted a closing of locker rooms and decontaminations before tipoffs. Any reason why they wouldn't do this?

They'll probably do something like that when games finally resume, but for the time being they have to assume that there's a high probability that Gobert infected other NBA players during the time between he himself was infected, and the time he was diagnosed. Those players may have in turn infected other players. Right now the NBA has to be really concerned about just how many players are already infected and just don't know it yet.
