Before this, there's a news stating that kevin love and giannis antetokounmpo offering $100,000 for the staff and court personnel of their own respective teams.

Imagine celebrating millionaire athletes having to pay for the workers of billionaire owners. It's disgusting.

I love this. People actually think he thought about this himself or doing this by himself. This guy is a brand with a big marketing team. It is not his idea. It most likely not his money, but his shoe brand paying. It's marketing. Not saying it is wrong of them doing this, it is good, but they way they are doing it is wrong.
superduper

As part of the middleclass it is honorable as hell to see Zion do this especially in the context that you mention it in of a millionaire doing the work that the billionaires above him should be doing.
And this dude is 19 years old, what a guy. Most people are still half retarded at 19.

This is a great gesture, and I'm sure other players will do the same, but I would fully expect team owners and arena owners to take the lead in this.

I know he just signed a $100m shoe deal, but most people could make $100m a year and still wouldn't do something like this. Big props to the kid.

People so gullible not realizing Zion probably did not pay a cent.
This is all advertising and people will lineup to buy more of his shoes and jerseys. It all gets paid by his sponsors.
Its good for the humanity though.

Likely, but as long as the money gets to those in need the fine details are immaterial. As has been said before, the owners should be stepping forward. 100k to a team owner is like the loose change you find between their couch.

You really dont see many rookies do things like this outside of what they're forced to with NBA cares or at least that's how I see it. But this was something IMO unprovoked and he did it out of kindness. I honestly have a hard time seeing why anyone hates this guy. Probably one of the most humble first picks we've seen.

you're probably right. I like this story though because it sends the right message. unlike other players who hold franchises hostage unless their scrub siblings are signed scrubs like carjello and scrubmelo and the rest of the big scrub brand

I'm sad my boy Ingram didn't step up:(
At least he has a true alpha to fall back on the next time he shoots 3/18 on a nationally televised game.

Really? You opened a thread that wasn't openly sucking off your crush Jordan? I'm impressed and a bit awry. Are you cheating? Fukking fakkot.
