Maybe there should be a coronavirus subforum? Hear me out

We're all going to be watching lots of TV, movies, and generally focused on staying happy.

Maybe we should have a subforum for all the dreary coronavirus stuff.

And the Lounge just focused on happy fun sh*t like TV we watched today, music talk, movies, etc.

Considering how the virus is affecting everything - it's not going to work. I mean look at the NBA forum... even that forum has coronavirus related threads.

Coronavirus is affecting the NBA, so no surprise there are interrelated discussions.

But here in Off Court, it feels like we're going to be dealing with corona for a while.

And it's on everyone's minds right now.

But we need to STAY HAPPY AND EMOTIONALLY HEALTHY during this time.

We need to laugh, etc.

And maybe that will be hard to do if threads like "best comedies of all time!" are right next to "here's dreary coronavirus news" etc.

Just thinking here.

I wanna keep our community informed, but also having FUN, which is a pretty damn important thing to have.

We should have a sub forum for the regular flu and all other diseases too. I don’t think it’s fair that the other viruses and diseases are not given the same kind of attention as COVID-19. Those are equally as important and I think those suffering from those other viruses and diseases would agree too.

How much run do you have here in this section compared to normal? And what would be your regular requirements before creating a new sub forum?

I manage a community myself, and from the looks of it here without having access to any of your numbers, it appears to be a good idea.

We rarely create subforums. Almost always just for people's fantasy leagues in the past.

Now maybe I'm thinking, right now since EVERYBODY is talking corona, maybe leave things as is for a few days.

But maybe sometime later this week, as everyone kinda adapts to these wild life changes, just having a few corona sticky threads, and merge stuff into there, so the forum continues to be dominated primarily by FUN discussion topics... because we NEED fun in our lives.
