I asked my friend if he thinks the NBA can return and he said he doesn’t care about basketball right now, he cares about living and the well being of the world because this virus can end us, at least to a degree.

And so in a way it is kinda selfish to just want the game to return for our own entertainment. It’s crazy cuz so many of us think of basketball as life but after a crisis like this, we realize how it’s just entertainment. And with Kobe dying, we thought people would end the Lebron debate. Now with the coronavirus people are still talking about Lebron. Have we not learned that this is bigger?

You want to have a crowd-less game in June even though we’re supposed to keep a 3-6 feet distance? Just so we can crown a champ? That’s really selfish. Life isn’t gonna return to normal for months. And it would make the NBA look bad.

At this point the whole season should be called off. Unless they wanna have a tournament mid season next year so we can have 2 different championships.

But my friends right. Why want basketball back if it puts the players lives at risk?

It's not selfish at all, OP. These people get paid millions and millions of dollars from us the fans and the least that they can do is actually suit up and play ball. They need to just shut up and dribble.

Better question is:

How can we mitigate the pain of withdrawing from one of our favorite pasttimes?

Answer: Pursue a different one.
