Knicks just had the Heat's number during that rivalry. Heat won in '97, but the Knicks won 3 consecutive do or die games on Miami's home floor, the last 2 by literally one point each.

I still can't recall a more competitive or fiercer rivalry over the last 20 years. Even their regular season games had some insane finishes

I don't know how Riley expected to win with this Miami team. Hardaway was washed, pretty much no shooting on this squad. A bunch of streak shooters. Mashburn looks totally uncomfortable and not fitting into the offense.

#1 seed? thats Riley wringing out as many wins as possible out of an overachieving team.
