You can't just run and shove an opponent in the NBA. The league is corrupt bc they allow him to get away with it. 100% guarantee that if someone else trues that, an offensive foul would be called.

You really watched that soft ass bump and responded this way? I thought it would be some serious stiff arm shit like you see at times. That’s less than Shaq did all the time. 01 Mutombo wishes Shaq treated him that gently. Deke was getting literally lifted off the ground one play and elbowed in the face the next.

Giannis does this way too often. Why do you ignore the facts?

you gotta pull a lambier on giannis... they simply wont call an offensive foul on him no matter how obvious.

gotta go for the strip with no intention of hitting ball.

You thinking it doesn’t make it a fact any more than other various haters think what they say are facts.

Its just not noteworthy. A shoulder bump and mild flop for the call during a spin move? Maybe it’s due to your age but if you think that was especially physical I don’t know what you would think of basketball before these days.

Tell me Mutombo wasn’t literally lifted off the ground and elbowed all over that game.

You only fall on a bump like that when you are trying to. Same bump doesn’t knock Kelly over in the streets. I’m sure you can find legit bruising charges or crazy stiff arms you just didn’t do so here which is why I was surprised by the clip.

Thats just good and physical post play from Shaq. There's a major difference tho. Giannis gets a running start and acts like a bowling ball hitting all the pins.

Shaq's post play is nowhere comparable to what Giannis is doing. Hell, Giannis doesn't even start moving in the paint, he's starting from damn near the half court to get his momentum going.

I'd respect his game if he actually did post moves vs his signature run into the post and shove everyone the fuvck out.

shaq getting away with 12-6 elbowing a dude in the face, a move thats banned even in mma competition, doesnt say shit about this.

except that shaq got away with plenty too. just cause he got away with it doesnt mean all should, though if they pull enough $$$, they will.

wilt didnt play like that. russell, kareem, hakeem didnt play like that. it's an affront to the sport.

Good physical Play? He literally lifted him off the ground. You do know that you can’t dislodge people like that legally right? This was every night too. These two are from game 3:

The only reason Mutombo wasn’t on the ground is because he wasn’t a *****. Giannis isn’t nearly as physical or bruising as a lot of forwards have been. He isn’t in the same solar system with Karl Malone. Young people just aren’t used to seeing physical players anymore especially with so many defenders willing or even eager to flop these days. And that makes it hard to ref. You never know if a guy truly got punished or if he’s getting over on you. Flopping took an already hard job and made it impossible.

Add that to the fact that the league invented a “zero step” to get rid of traveling and let you “gather” 20 feet from the basket and guys can pretty much do what they want. You can travel, carry, and even double dribble and when you bump a guy who is gonna fall even if you barely hit him....the shit is just terrible.

You can’t watch the nba and expect to see normal rules followed. The nba isn’t normal.

Everyone knows LeBron gets away with the most stiff arm offensive fouls in the NBA. Which makes this thread incredibly ironic.

Olynyk flopped to take the charge. He def got trucked but he did sell it. Not a big fan of Giannis though if my boy Westbrook did that I would unbiasedly look the other way :lol

Giannis benefits more from the fact that the rules that are supposed to be in place and the fact that defense can't be played anymore are common place. The fact that with his length and athleticism (and admitted skill) is allowed to just travel at will and shoulder through teammates is why he's so good in the NBA. The fact that he's not even half the player he is under european rules is a good indication of limited he is when the game isn't designed to make him the best player in the world. If he was truly as good his numbers say in the NBA that should translate outside of the joke rules and game the NBA has become...but it doesn't.

I mean, if you're allowed to truck anyone with your shoulder without being called for a foul, isn't that an unfair advantage. Like smoke said, his game doesn't hold up under FIBA rules. In any other league with non-corrupt reffing, he's not a superstar.

Damn, just look at how mutombo tried his best to act like a hardened brick wall there, only to get crushed by a heavy freight train in shaq.

This isn’t any different than what any star player does to gain separation.

There’s WAY more egregious ones you could have chosen..

Obviously Bran ALWAYS has more egregious stiff arms, it's his damn bread and butter signature move and only guaranteed way he gets to the rim.
