Heard Artest talking about this on knuckleheads podcast.
This game along with the 92 Olympic scrimmages are the holy grail of unseen footage.
Speaking of rare footage, a lot of Wilt stuff has popped up recently. Most of his career will probably never be on the internet though. Unfortunately.

ESPN covered this story back in the day.
From what I recall, Jordan and LeBron didn't guard each other.
But I think this game(s) was part of the reason Jordan said LeBron needed to work on his defense.

I didn't hear any inconsistencies. I think Karceno elaborated a little more and told a bigger story so the LeBron piece of his story wasn't so outsized. LeBron's own friend said, "He wasn't like, dominating. He wasn't like...but he didn't stick out. You didn't go, like, 'oh there's a kid out there'. It was like, 'Oh, there's another player out there.' Like, you know, he got a couple buckets..."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgVDFm2Zip8&t=5m13s
Sounds like Artest is selling the story a little bit. What Karceno said matches what Maverick Carter said. Artest sounds like he's trying to explain how impressed he was that a 16 year old was that athletic and strong. I can see how both versions, with differences in perspective, can be synchronized.
I also heard on a video somewhere that Maverick said LeBron couldn't play defense back then. That coincides with Karceno's story that he couldn't hold Jamal Crawford.

because Karceno's version has Ron and Lebron on the same team while Ron's version has him giving Lebron a flagrant. Also Mj's team never lost a game so I'm trying to figure out how Lebron and Ron both played together and against each other if MJ's team never lost. I'll admit I've never been to a professional run before but anytime I've been at a run the winning team doesn't break up until they get taken off court.

Who knows? Sounds like Artest broke MJ's ribs. Maybe after MJ left, they reconfigured the teams and kept playing.
Or it could be as innocent as any one of them leaving for any reason...which forced the teams to add in and/or change players. Happens all the time.

very well could be, but yeah it's a conflicting detail to be sure. And I'm still not clear on why this guy would be an insider for this particular story. I watched another video and he doesn't seem too keen on Lbj anyway, so I'm gonna take his view with a grain of salt tbh.

He doesn't like LeBron but his story supports Maverick's. He doesn't like MJ either (but respects him more than he does LeBron). He's a die-hard Isiah Thomas/Bad Boys Pistons fan.
As for how he seems to know so much... I don't know. I've wondered that myself. He's from Chicago and he grew up around Kenan Thompson. That might have been his "in" into the industry. I have tried to figure out how he gets so much insider information about so many different areas but I can't. All his info checks out. I can't figure out how because he'd need to have connections in so many different areas to be able to know so much. Seems impossible but no one can find out anything that proves he's a liar or figure out where he gets his info from.
