And what would the outcome be? Remember this isnt necessarily whos the greatest team ever. You may consider the bulls the goat team but there may be a worse team in this playoffs thats just a bad matchup for them.

East
1. 90's bulls
2. Russells celtics
3. 80's celtics
4. Lebrons heat
5. Bad boy pistons
6. 83 sixers
7. 08 celtics
8. 71 bucks

West
1. 2000's lakers
2. 80's lakers
3. Curry's warriors
4. Duncans spurs
5. Kobes lakers
6. Olajuwan rockets
7.72 lakers
8. 11 mavs

As far as the outcome i actually have birds celtics coming out of the east. That celtic team gave mj alot of problems. Even the 96 bulls wouldn't really have an answer for parish and McHale in their primes. They were to big and skilled for that bulls team.

I have 2000's lakers coming out of the west. Kobe and shaq surrounded by some decent 3 point shooters is a problem.

I think the lakers would beat birds celtics in 6.

Good thread! Yeah prime Jordan would always be the favorite, just the way it is.

What's the difference of the 00s lakers and kobe's lakers? The former still having shaq in the team?

I really don't like the idea of using single season teams in the same discussion with multi year runs. When you say Russell's Celtics, you could literally be talking about the late 50's when Russell was a rookie or a decade later in the late 60's when Russell became the coach, with two vastly different rosters. Same with Curry's Warriors, is that including Durant? That makes a substantial difference. Even the 80's Celtics & Lakers looked completely different from their first title and their last. I'd go with single season myself, that way you know exactly what you're getting. My bracket would look something like this, and just to make things easier I'm just going with teams since the 3 point line was implemented (1980)

East
1. 1996 Bulls
2. 1986 Celtics
3. 1983 76ers
4. 2012 Heat
5. 2008 Celtics
6. 1989 Pistons
7. 2016 Cavs
8. 2004 Pistons

West
1. 2017 Warriors
2. 2001 Lakers
3. 1987 Lakers
4. 2014 Spurs
5. 1995 Rockets
6. 2002 Kings
7. 2009 Lakers
8. 2012 Thunder

I probably should of clarified better but the 00 Lakers are kobe and shaq. Guess u could call it shaq's Lakers. Kobes lakers is the lakers championship teams without shaq towards the end of the the decade.

Yeah i hear you. I thought about that as i was making the thread. As far as your seeding i dont have a problem with any of it other than maybe the 2012 thunder. On paper they look ridiculous but they were young and Westbrook and kd just didn't work.

Yeah i had birds celtics beating them but its hard to tell hiw much of that was just them having mj's number or that mj didn't have enough help. Even with a prime pip and seasoned Rodman im not sure the bulls beat that celtics team

Or 3-peat lakers. Whatever suits best.

You don't have the '18 Warriors in your Top 8? I know they fell off some, but they were better than '12 OKC imo. To me even the '16 iteration was better.

I'd also throw in the '92 Bulls somewhere. Where exactly? Don't know. But they're in there. Other than that, your list would look A LOT like mine.

Tbh that's not necessarily my 8 best teams from each conference, I just didn't wanna use the same cast of players twice. So the '18 Warriors and I'm sure multiple Jordan teams would definitely make my top 8, but that would be mad boring to debate for a bracket :lol

It was tougher to come up with 8 teams from the West using my strategy than the East. So many dynasties hogged up all the titles in that conference. So in the end, I did end up using two teams that didn't win the title. You're not alone in your opinion, a lot of people are high on the '16 Thunder, the 2012 version was just better in my opnion. Even at their young age they really impressed me in the playoffs, and even their Finals loss was much more competitive than 5 games would indicate.

Who would you have for your bracket?

You can't seed a tournament if you put in shit like "90's bulls".

You only managed to list 5 actual teams
