Marshon Brooks on the Nets was hailed as a kobe jr. (he had skill)

The utltimate cake taker though is Travis outlaw, although i never thought he would be good, completely admonished my expectations.

This guy was signed in the post "Decision" hype of 2010 when teams had tons of dough to spend, and was one of the worst ballers you'll ever see. They did it solely because he was a long athletic black guy. He had absolutely no game.

it makes you realize how incompentant a lot of scouts can be.

MCW. Near quadruple double in his debut against the Big 3 Heat.

Fultz. Refuses to shoot, was touted as the next Harden.

Brandon Ingram. Doesn't have the right mentality.

Brandon Jennings, off the top of my head.

Didn't necessarily expect him to blossom into our next franchise player (as I once did for Jabari Parker), but he showed enough flashes during his rookie season that he was a likely-looking pillar for our eventual title contention. We were encouraged by his near-triple-double debut, ecstatic after his 55-point outburst, and all but sold after he led us to the brink of a first-round upset against the Hawks.

It wasn't a transcendent rookie season consistency-wise, but it was a promising foundation to build on—except he never did.

Unlike Parker's injury-derailed career, you can't chalk it up to health; rather, Jennings just didn't hone his skillsets. He never improved his shot selection—not that he could find many high-percentage shots without tweaking his shooting mechanics, which he also failed to do—and he only peaked as an Allen Iverson-lite: an oft-entertaining volume scorer, but not impactful enough to entrust with the keys to any franchise.

Giannis. I thought he could be a superstar that would dominate like LeBron. Unfortunately, he's just a bowling ball that fouls his way into the paint. There's still time for him to develop a skill and signature move. I he never does, he'll continue getting bounced in the playoffs.

I know you’re trolling but at least make sense.

Despite the fact that you think he’s overrated, he’s won an MVP and was a captain in the all star game.

He’s a star..

Didn't Jennings have an Achilles tear?

I wanna say Andrew Wiggins even though he’s not at all a terrible player and still may yet make a name for himself. But I remember him being hyped up as a once in a generation talent. Can’t really call him a bust. I can’t help but feel like he’s a bust though.

Joe Smith, Anthony Morrow,

Damn didn’t Joe Smith go number 1 in the draft? Sure he turned out to be a mega bust, but the dude ended up having a long and decent career in the nba. The consummate journeyman. Can’t say that for a lot of lottery draft picks who were out of the league by their second or third years.

Didn't Jennings have an Achilles tear?

He did in 2015, which was well after our experiment with him ended (and failed).

He had five and a half (mostly) healthy seasons prior to prove a promising trajectory if he had one, yet he wasn't on-pace to become more than a fringe All-Star out East. His scoring efficiency flatlined, and he continued taking more shots than his shooting license warranted.

Not denying that his health was ultimately checkered; it's just that it wasn't his biggest roadblock to stardom.

OJ Mayo was my biggest one. i didn’t think he’d be a superstar, but I thought he’d eventually be a perennial All-Star type, especially after his first two seasons. Even when he got relegated to the Memphis bench, I thought that would be great for him to carve out a role as ultimate 6th man. It just didn’t work out, and now we know some of the reasons why.

My number 2 on this list would probably be Evan Turner. With the way he dominated college, I expected him to be a star with at least a couple All-Star games. At least he’s a funny interview.

John Wallace. Of course this was coming off his run in the NCAA tourney, I think they got to the finals and he was fantastic. I was like ooooohhhhh weeeeeeeee let's goooooo. He sucked. That's life as a Knicks fan. We cursed, let's hope RJ and whoever they draft next can become stars.
