View Full Version : In 2017 Cavs could only win one game?

This makes no sense. Lebron was supposed to be a historic one man team and he played with Love and Irving. Plus other role players such as Kyle Korver and other 3 point specialists.

The Rockets took them to seven games twice..

After all these years I still don’t get it.

Cavs had a crappy, thin coach called ty lue.

That’s the coach Lebron wanted.

Maybe but that doesn't mean he's a good coach. When lebron left his hometown team once again to join the lakers two years ago, lue was fired after the first 6 games of the cavs in the '18-19 season.

Draymond Green didn't call up Durant in the parking lot to beat the Rockets. He called because they didn't have anyone good enough on their team that could stand toe-to-toe to LeBron. They added Kevin Durant to beat the Cavs.

You’re just another person that deflects the topic. You can’t go toe to toe with my topic. You’re trying to go sideways on me instead of answering directly. I won’t let you do that.

Damn, that's crazy. How many other games did their playoff opponents take off them in '17?

The refs also gave them a shot by calling a disproportionate amount of fouls on their opponent in the first half leading to a record 3-point output from the Cavs. I won't go so far as to say they should have lost but the Cavs were lucky they weren't swept.

they were the most stacked team of all time. its the reason no one respects kd's rings - everyone knew they'd win before the season even started.

Really the only reason the Cavs even won that game was because they hit 24 threes. It took an abberation performance. That's why nobody gives a shit about KDs rings. When you join a team that makes winning a foregone conclusion, that doesn't give you a pass go up the rankings. KD in 2016 and in 2017 is more or less the same player.

This.

Take a look at that roster and tell me who beats them 4 times in 7 tries.

First time I agreed with your posts.

Why were the 2008 Celtics taken to 7 games by the absurdly less talented Hawks and Cavs? And then how did they beat the lakers in 6?

Shit happens. Some teams take certain series more seriously than others.

Exactly. How can you take a team to 7 games twice? I know he's talking about back to back years, but he's talking strictly about 2017.

Wait a minute are you trying to tell me that the Warriors played three teams in the mighty West and none of them could win a single game? And then just like that LeBron wins more games than all three of the western teams combined? Tell me this isn't true?

Prime Curry, Prime Durant, Prime Thompson, Prime Green + Iggy + Livingston + West

And it confuses you as to why they lost?

MJ never faced a lineup nearly that nasty.

The funny thing about that is...is that the team who relies on analytics more then any other team had the most success against the KD Warriors then anyone else:roll:

Rockets win that series if Paul stays healthy and they didn't have a once in a billion chance of missing 27 straight threes.

Yeah, but that didn't prevent the cavs from being swept in the finals two years ago. In other words, the rockets gave them more challenge.

Sure.

Love: 19 ppg on 40.6%/32.1%/93.8%
JR Smith: 9.5 ppg on 31.7%/36%/60%
Hill: 7.5 ppg on 32.3%/43.8%/50%
Green: 5.3 ppg on 28.6%/21.4%/100%

Those were the next 4 highest in MPG in the Finals. In fact, outside of LeBron the Cavs shot 37%/28.8%/65%... The Rockets had more talent plain and simple. Harden, Paul, Gordon, Tucker, Ariza, Capela...

Yup and that's why they won 65 games during that season which is a franchise record, despite coming up short in the playoffs yet again against the warriors. It's a team game but the greatest difference bet. the both teams is that the dubs had kd, so...

I believe the cavs could have done so much better during the same season but i guess it's a bit too much to expect from them.

No I’m saying why Lebron couldn’t even win 2 games.

Cuz according to his fans, Lebron is God. And he had 2 star players alongside him plus role players that are similar to the ones you just mentioned.

How the hell do you expect LeBron to win against 3 HOF'ers in their prime + a DPOY winner + Iggy (no role player on the Cavs came close to him) when the rest of your team gives you that?

Context means nothing to you.

But hey, LeBron only averaged a 34 point triple double on 56.4% and 38.7%.

Maybe the Cavs would have had a chance if he averaged 40/15/15.

The talent the Cavs had was equal to the Warriors? GOod lord...

No no.

I didn’t say he should win the series. I asked why couldn’t he make it more competitive? The Rockets took the Warriors to 7. Let’s not act like that isn’t true.

Hey if you’re telling me that Love and Irving and Lebron isn’t enough just to win 2 games then I don’t know what to tell you. They had solid role players too like Kyle Korver and Tristan Thompson plus Deron Williams and Channing Frye.

The 2017 Rockets lost in 6 to the Spurs in the WCSF
The 2017 Warriors SWEPT the West, 12-0

That isn't on LeBron.

Deron Williams averaged 12 mpg and Frye only played in one game. Korver stepped up and shot 36.8% and 31.3%.:oldlol: Learn wtf you are talking about before you decide to do so.

You act as if preseason predictions means anything once it comes to the actual finals.

Please tell me how LeBron should have overcome this:

In fact, outside of LeBron the Cavs shot 37%/28.8%/65%

Those celtics team performed horribly in road games during the first two rounds of the playoffs. Went 0-6 until they won their first road game in detroit.
