Dang, could have had him as free agent now and kept all of their assets.

There is no predicting coronavirus so it was absolutely the right decision. They are under pressure to put a great team together quickly because James is in his mid 30s. Plus you can't be sure he doesn't pick someone else if he has no attachment. It will be a loss if he doesn't re-sign but if they keep him there's no regretting this move.

Not a big deal. It’s not like they were winning anything this year regardless.

Can you imagine if he walks now? Lakers would definitely be the biggest covid-19 losers.

(among nba teams, of course).

Lonzo is ‘better than Steph Curry’

“UCLA wouldn’t be where they at,” LaVar Ball told Smith, a commentator on First Take. “Steph Curry’s gonna shoot them out (of) the game. He ain’t rebounding and passing that ball. … Soon as they double him up, he’s going to lose that ball — he’s too little.”

"Lakers traded all of their assets only to have AD during a cancelled season"

And he'll have an option to be a free agent come this summer? Yikes.

Bran HAD to do it. Without AD he's a lottery bound leader in the West.

Reality hurts :(

Ball will probably hang around a little while, but yes it was obviously a great trade for the Lakers. If you can get a first team All NBA player, you absolutely trade a bunch of unproven young guys. Nobody bats an eye in baseball when a team will trade their top minor league prospects for a superstar. That is basically what the Lakers did and they are now as close to a title as they have been in a decade because of that trade. They aren't up 2-0 in the conference finals with Ball and Ingram.

Ingram is well on his way to becoming a star. He will never be a #1 option, but he can be a solid #2 option behind say Zion.

Lonzo will never be a #1 or #2 option on a playoff team, but he will be good as #3 or #4 option. He just has to work on his conditioning to stay healthy. His court vision is great, his defense borderline elite, playmaking great. He needs to keep working on his shot and conditioning.

Hart will never be a starter, but he will be a solid player off the bench as probably a 6th man. He will probably win a 6th man of the year somewhere down the road. He plays hard, plays good defense and can be a backup for both guard positions.

Oh they certainly have potential and yeah Ingraham will be an all star for years to come. He will never be Anthony Davis though and the window with Lebron being 35 isn't long. If you are the Lakers, you have to make that trade.

Yes!!! They needed to keep the young core together and sign Luke Walton to a 10 year deal to mentor the young core!!! Horrible 2019 offseason by the Lakers!
