60's - Wilt / Russell / Oscar
70's - Dr. J / Kareem
80's - Magic / Bird
90's - Jordan
00's - LeBron
Is this the cream of the crop? I think it is.
So many other names deserve to be talked about. But this is the Elite. The Gucci brand. The top-shelf in Wal Mart. The brand that is most likely overrated but no one gives a shit and mindlessley follow anyways.

90's - Jordan
00's - LeBron
no further reduction seems necessary.
How the hell is LeBron the best player of the 2000s lol. Sure you could easily say he had the best peak of anyone in the 2000s (2009), but he also didn't play in 00, 01, 02 or 03 and wasn't even a superstar in 2004.

Kareem, Bird, Lebron, Jordan, Magic
Wilt, Russell ( move to PF) Dr. J, Oscar , West
Shaq, Duncan, Garnet, Kobe , Nash
Trying to keep players together by era - this is an awesome 15 man roster!

No.
Larry / Magic saved basketball. Best perimeter players by that time, ever. Better than West, and Oscar.
Kobe, as popular as he was ... was derivative, lesser, cover band version of Jordan.
Russell, dominated the fundamental stages of the game. LeBron has been the greatest player post the Jordan era, I guess. And has carried the league as the biggest name from the late 2000s, until now.

People are out of their minds that LeBron isn't the face of the league for the 00's. He missed the first few years but he grew into a superstar almost overnight and the rightfully attained media attention makes him Mr. Mount Rushmore. Most iconic player of the decade.
The guy was on sports illustrated and had high school games on national television. The hype on him made him the face of the league right away.

he made the Finals with a trash ass team Yeah you are correct that the Cavs were ¨trash¨ back then in the Playoffs.
Basketball is a game of possessions where the goal is to score as many possessions as possible.
If we take SRS (Simple Rating System that takes into account point differential)
The Spurs were 1st in the league (8.35)
The Cavs were 7th in the league. They posted a SRS of (3.33).
There is a 5.02 difference.
Also the Spurs were 5th and 2nd in terms of Dtg Rtg and Off Reg.
The Cavs were 18th and 4th in Dtg Rtg and Off Reg.
Keep in mind all of the stats shown does NOT include in factors such as pace and age.
If we add context to better improve our understanding the Spurs were facing a young inexperienced Cavs team that didn´t know how to win at the highest level of NBA. The Spurs were a experienced team.
The Cavs were simply not up to par to the Spurs team to win the 2007 Finals.
Turbo Slayer
04-05-2020, 09:47 AM
This is a better stat to better determine how much better a team really is. PPP(Points Per Possession)
The Spurs had a 0.91 PPP
The Cavaliers had a 0.82 PPP
This means that the Spurs scored more efficiently on more # of poss.

LeBron was trash last year after his groin injury. Are you kidding me? That was the most hollow gunning for superficial counting stats while having absolutely NO impact on winning, even engaging playoff mode LOL and played no defense. He barely made the cut for his all NBA 3rd team. And probably shouldn’t have even got that. Bill Simmons regrets even doing that. He was a terrible leader.

He was steaming hot trash. Absolutely horrendous job at leader ship for a 33 to 34-year-old man. He pouted so much that year it was pathetic.
It was arguably his worst season ever. I’d argue even worse than his rookie year, because at least then he has an excuse. He was an 18-year-old rookie in the last remaining vestiges of a very physical NBA on the perimeter, with difficult scoring climate and minimal pace and space.
He was actually a running joke. All those lack of defense Memes. Luckily his sports agency was linked up with one of the five best players in the NBA, the best big man in the NBA, and they scooped up Anthony Davis this year to entirely flip his reputation around in his final seasons
