There’s no reason they should just altogether cancel the season regardless of when they can restart. Doesn’t make sense to have an incomplete season just so they can restart a new one. If the issue is about arena scheduling, just do it all in Vegas then. They could have a 2 week training camp, then have a best of 3 playoffs and be done with that in like a month (1 round per week, 45 games max). Then have a 1 week break, have 1 week free agency, and go into 2 week training camp, then restart the season. That's about a month break in between seasons. That next season will be adjusted accordingly (hopefully 2020-21).
