Government plans to keep payments ‘a permanent instrument’ after pandemic is over

apparently it goes even further than yang's proposal which wouldn't have allowed citizens that were already receiving gov benefits to be eligible for ubi payments.

so what's next, m4a here in the states? the world is changing in the face of this pandemic.

honestly, idk what to expect once this pandemic is over with (if anytime soon). i feel like there will be so many changes to every facet of life. i had a contractor friend saying his business is blowing up despite the economic crash. his projects? bio labs, catering kitchens, medical buildings. he mentioned something about the catering kitchens just being literraly a big kitchen designed to make food in mass meant for delivery/pickup. apparently the investors doubled down and are making more of them. bio labs and medical buildings make sense given the state of affairs.

anyhow. i fee like UBI was something the US would consider once automation really ramped up. now, i feel like it will be taken more seriously a lot sooner.

hand shaking, will the newer generations keep it? room occupancy rates, they might be lowered. amazon is bustling right now, i think their business model will inspire more companies to expand their logistical chains. yes, i know, walmart already offers home delivery, but not at the scale or speed that amazon does. you have to understand, Amazon is first and foremost a logistical company. movies being available on demand immediately vs going through a 3 month theater delivery phase.what about doctors? maybe they start making house calls more often.

i doubt will we ever see the world we left pre-coronavirus. this virus will force change in many industries.

makes perfect sense for a country in debt. government structures are on a quicksand, with nationalism at the very middle of it.
