There is a lot of moving parts but it's amazing how accurate "Miles Kwok" is to that narrative
Not sure if authentic or if this was already shared. Have a look see because it is a great discussion point.

"You are too naive to believe the CCP"

A lot of posters in the corona thread need to take heed here.

it's pretty crazy that Chinese government spends less than a half trillion in social housing (think section 8 and vouchers) while the USA spends 20 trillion.
They outnumber us 4:1, and spend 1/50th what we do in welfare.
and they're the communist country and were the capitalist. :lol
this man is very smart, for how little english he knows, the points are all gotten across.

A part of that is based on purchasing power parity. Lots of things cost far less to make than what is charged in the United States. That's why China can produce so many things that other countries cannot match in terms of cost. But workers in the U.S. demand a lot more in wages because a lot of costs in the U.S. are high because richer people drive the prices higher. For example why is there such a difference between living in Buffalo, New York and Manhattan? Part of it is also the keeping up with the Joneses culture that is promoted by the consumerist and free flowing credit marketing bent in society. There should be little objective reason to buy a new $1000 iPhone every few years when a rotary dial phone worked just fine for decades for previous generations or to upgrade Windows every 5 years when its functions are basically the same with each iteration. But people do. And it's encouraged across the board.
