As far back as late November, U.S. intelligence officials were warning that a contagion was sweeping through China’s Wuhan region, changing the patterns of life and business and posing a threat to the population, according to four sources briefed on the secret reporting.


"Analysts concluded it could be a cataclysmic event," one of the sources said of the NCMI’s report. "It was then briefed multiple times to" the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Pentagon’s Joint Staff and the White House.


From that warning in November, the sources described repeated briefings through December for policy-makers and decision-makers across the federal government as well as the National Security Council at the White House. All of that culminated with a detailed explanation of the problem that appeared in the President’s Daily Brief of intelligence


"The timeline of the intel side of this may be further back than we’re discussing," the source said of preliminary reports from Wuhan. "But this was definitely being briefed beginning at the end of November as something the military needed to take a posture on."

If China knew about this in November, while the WHO in January claimed no evidence of human to human transmission based on Chinese studies/information, then someone either did a very poor job or they're corrupt.

It's the responsibility of the WHO to be on top of these things worldwide, kind of goes with the name of their org you know..

Actually no, what I've seen lefty news media bitch about most, and I agree with them, is that Trump had at least a month head start to ramp up production of surgical masks, PPE, ventilators, tests etc... The US had some time to prepare, Asia and Europe didn't but we still fukked up bigly.

I'm not too hard on Trump in regards to when he closed the border with China, by then it was too late and it's mostly China's fault for not being upfront about how contagious this virus was, also they tried to suppress information about the outbreak meanwhile hundreds of thousands of Chinese and foreigners were traveling in and out of Wuhan.

Trump was busy downplaying this threat instead of taking steps to lessen the blow, that is on him, despite being warned by advisors and intelligence officers...he has been consistently slow in his response and it should be held against him. The South Koreans were aggressive in their response, focusing on testing people to separate the infected from those who aren't and they look to be past the worst of it, we still got some brutal days ahead of us.

The main fear of this virus is/was how fast it spreads, so if it's been about since late November and was allowed to spread without any social distancing or travel bans for about 2 months, then we have to be pretty close on this to be over and general population immunity kick in.

I would look forward to reading this. I believe he's accurate because in my opinion the most wild eyed liberals are the elite in society, particularly those whose wealth comes easy, and the poor who can't provide for themselves and carry a sense of victimhood with them like a backpack. These also happen to be the 2 groups most prone to mental illness. Folks in the middle have much less mental illness in their ranks. I'm not saying everyone on the left or who votes Democrat is mentally I'll though but those that do are usually lured to that side by a carrot on the stick by the leftist elites. E.g. immigration with latinos, entitlements with blacks, etc.

I would love to see a study involving mental illness, and/or those who rely on anti-depressants among white Republicans and white Democrats.
