Was Kareem this much trouble for Wilt? Wilt averaged 10.8 ppg for the series.

Wilt goes on to get 20 ppg in the Finals and win FMVP though

Wilt gets revenge on Knicks and Frazier from 1970.

Was Jason Terry too much for LeBron James in 2011?

Jason Terry not only outscored LeBron James in the 2011 Finals.

He did it while playing less minutes too

LeBron James even produced 4 points per game lower than Steph Curry’s worst Finals Performance.

Wow!

I'll go you one better. March 27, 1973. Bucks at Lakers. Wilt vs Kareem. Wilt plays 46 minutes and doesn't score a single point. Hell, he doesn't even attempt a single shot.

Wilt was 36 and 37 years old when he played Kareem in the playoffs and Wilt was asked by bill Sherman in those years to just focus on defence, rebounding being efficient and throwing outlet passes to start the laker's fast breaks.

In their six post-season H2H's in '72, Kareem shot .457 (and only .414 over the course of the last four pivotal games of that series.) And in their six regular-season H2H's in Wilt's last season, Kareem shot .450 (BTW, Chamberlain averaged 11 ppg on a .737 FG% against him, including one game in which he outscored Kareem, 24-21, and outshot him, 10-14 to 10-27.) In fact, in their LAST TEN H2H games, Wilt held Kareem to a .434 FG%.

Concerning the Kareem-Wilt H2H's...the two met 28 times, 27 of which came after Chamberlain's knee surgery (and from ages 34 thru 36.)

Vs Kareem In their first 11 meetings, Wilt averaged 22.8 ppg and 17.6 rebounds, while Kareem averaged 26.0 ppg and 15.6 rebounds.

In the playoffs In 1972 Wilt had 19.3 rebounds per game, Kareem had 17.5 rebounds per game; in 1971 Wilt had 18.8 per game, Kareem had 17.2 per game. Wilt outrebounded Kareem in their 28 H2H's, and this was an old past his prime Chamberlain.

Also in his LAST ten straight games against Kareem, Chamberlain held a prime Kareem to .434 shooting (which included .414 in the last four pivotal games of the '72 WCF's.)

Several of those games are online. Wilt was playing well overall and I believe thats the series he got standing ovations on the road for apparently outplaying Kareem despite the statistical difference. If you play 47 minutes and make peak Kareem take 37 shots to score 32 or 33 shots to score 28 as your team wins a close one....does you only taking 3 shots mean you played poorly because you had 7 points?

Basketball is still being played when the other team has the ball. He helped limit the other teams key played and his team won the series and the title.

Would he be playing better to take 44 shots and lose like he did in his early career?
