Lets see how many people feels Lebron has taken the GOAT crown from MJ.

Or if you think someone else is GOAT (ie. Kareem), just vote for whoever's higher in your GOAT list.

It's pretty crazy how active Twitter is with Jordan GOAT posts

It's really educating the younger generations who didn't really get to see him. A bunch of the youngsters I work with were talking all night in a group chat about it and how they didnt know Jordan was playing with crackheads or broke his foot and had to fight management to be allowed to play just to get to the playoffs and put on a historical performance against the Celtics with a team full of Hall of Famers

I'm curious to see how they're gonna take in the Pistons chapter and Jordan's Point Guard stint (Which I imagine will be covered as well)

I'm sure the black twitter community with their basic unthoughtful "killer, alpha, clutch, 6/6" drivel is educating generations to come.

Lol.

Another idiot ring counter goes down the drain

Like LeBron hasn't amassed as many great finals series as Jordan had by now, but against better opponents as underdog.

social media posts have been raving about Jordan respectfully dropping 2 positions on their all time rankings from #2 to #4

kindergartens in my wifes class were skyping all night how they never knew Bulls made the playoffs with teams 22 games under .500

it will be interesting to see how they soak in James R murder, if they even touch on it

Lol.

Seeing as being "thoughtful" to you includes feeling some type of way about pornstars having sex, you're not qualified to judge

Anyway, no. If you actually open Twitter you'd see tons of fans/analysts/athletes/celebs making Jordan GOAT posts. Which isn't surprising. You'd have to have been living under a rock to not know Jordan is the consensus GOAT

Yup

Like Lambier and many other 80's players have said, i'll take LBJ over MJ 10 out of 10 times every time. "he is better at involving teammates to win"

Not sure if they will reveal how much weaker the comp was, though. You know the drill: they hype teams in specific peak years but don't talk about their long term performance and never compare how many HOF each side had.

Kareem is the GOAT.

Kareem's Playoff Averages During Various Championship Runs:

1982: 20.0 ppg.. 8.5 rpg...

1985: 21.0 ppg.. 8.1 rpg...

1987: 19.2 ppg.. 6.8 rpg...

1988: 14.1 ppg.. 5.5 rpg...

Kareem is the GOAT.

Through 13 Seasons Each

REGULAR SEASON

Jordan (https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/j/jordami01.html#all_advanced).... 31.5 ppg.. 58.0 ts.. 35.3 usg.. 120 ortg.. 29.1 PER.. 0.274 ws/48.. 9.0 bpm
Kareem (https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/a/abdulka01.html#1970-1982-sum:per_game)... 26.5 ppg.. 59.0 ts.. 25.1 usg.. 118 ortg.. 26.5 PER.. 0.255 ws/48.. 7.9 bpm

PLAYOFFS

Jordan (https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/j/jordami01.html#all_playoffs_advanced).... 33.5 ppg.. 56.8 ts.. 35.6 usg.. 118 ortg.. 28.6 PER.. 0.255 ws/48.. 10.1 bpm
Kareem (https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/a/abdulka01.html#1970-1982-sum:playoffs_advanced)... 29.1 ppg.. 56.7 ts.. 26.1 usg.. 118 ortg.. 25.8 PER.. 0.232 ws/48.... 8.7 bpm

FINALS

Jordan'.... 33.5 ppg.. 6 fmvp
Kareem... 26.0 ppg.. 2 fmvp

SUMMARY - jordan has a massive statistical and winning edge over kareem.. this is despite Kareem not winning much in the 70's and playing for himself, while MJ was restricted by a winning system and brand of ball

Obviously, if we included 83-89' for Kareem (his mostly carried years), MJ would've beaten him by even more

* ortg was only available for 78-82' for Kareem, so his high season from that period was used.. bpm was available for 74-82' (most of the period in question), so the average was used

Kareem is the GOAT.

Kareem wasn't in the goat debate for 25 years after MJ retired

He only re-surfaced as a way to help lebron by pretending "well MJ isn't goat anyway.. it's Kareem"

jordan can match up with lebrons stats despite playing the right way(not caring about stats). Thats how far jordan is to lebron. Kobe is lesser but plays the right way and hes still a better winner than bron.

Accolades, Jordan perhaps... but you go the strict accolade road then Bill Russell has something to say... as far as talent/basketball abilities goes i would take guys like Lebron / players like that (Magic/Bird for example) because I prefer all around players that are willing to pass and make everyone else around them better, he is/was that effective-versatile defensively aswell.... i really love to watch Lebrons passing/playmaking the most, reminds of Magic, its the thing that sets him apart from other all-time scorers and probably his best skill....

Interestingly Scottie Pippen thinks Lebron > Jordan in that context aswell.... and he knows more about Jordan than any of you here....

Saying "GOAT" is ignorant to start off with. It's quite odd that Jordan has these non basketball dribbling, fashion and pop fans worshiping him and thinking that means they have a higher status then, say...Steph Under Armour Curry. I think that's what it's mainly about. Not basketball. Ignorance will be the downfall of society. Believe it or not LeBron James MIGHT beat him one on one or with a mutually good team. It's possible. Irrational behavior is clamping the casuals' minds (which are MJ's anyway since MJ is their God at any given moment, depending how cool they want to feel).

That Pippen quote came before some final series either 11 or 12. He retracted it later on. He said he'd chose Michael over Lebron.

What I find striking is people who have Kareem, LeBron, Wilt, etc. are GOAT can give you legitimate reasons for it. Most MJ stans will just say "6-0" and fluff like "will to win", "killer instinct" etc.

Yeah, we already get that mj is very selfish in the finals. I mean look at that 6-0 record there. That's the proof and therefore, he wouldn't be goat. Nuff said.
