Legit chance means >20% odds to win the title

All of them bar the last one. If you're good enough to get to the finals, you're good enough to win them.
1-4 but would have been 0-5 but for Adam Silver.

3-peating was on the table in 2014 against the same team they beat the prior year
Unfortunately:
- lebron-ball didn't evolve like Spurs-ball
- his marginalization of Bosh came back to bite him
- the Spurs were exploiting his poor fit with Wade (Spurs were coming off one to help on the other's drives, thus forcing them to pass to each other for spot-ups (their weakness))
These factors gave the Heat a weaker team then they should've had and caused them to lose by record amount, despite being even money in Vegas to win

2014,2016 and 2017. 2017 will be questioned by some but cavs were good enough to give the warriors a go. They shouldn't of lost the way they did. A year later old ass cp3 and harden had that same warriors team beat if cp3 dosnt get hurt.

Why did the Heat lose in 2014 with 28/8/4 on 57% from LeBron?
Why did the Bulls win in 1996 with 27/6/4 points on 41% from MJ?

That's some ignorant shit to say :lol Unless you legitimately believe the '99 Knicks, '01 76ers, '02/'03 Nets & '07 Cavs are all championship caliber squads
2016 and this year assuming he and AD and the Lakers stayed at least relatively healthy.

So only once in the last 7 years?
And that only time being against a 73 win team with 3 all stars while LeBron didn’t have an all star teammate??

yup.
2015 before kyrie went down
2016 for sure

He had Kyrie and Love, although Love is hardly an all-star against GSW because his rotten defense makes him a liability against him. But yeah, the 16 Cavs were legit. He had a great chance if Kyrie hadn't got hurt in 2015 as well, but he did sadly. I thought he was going to win again in 2014 prior to the finals, but given how his teammates played, he didn't have any chance of winning.

Sonics were locking down defensively and made it a defensive series, whereas the Spurs knew they could outgun the solved bron-ball and weren't worried about defense.
this is nothing new - bron-ball tends to lose the shootouts (09' ECF, 11' Finals, 14' Finals, 17' Finals) and often overperforms in defensive series (06' ecsf, 07' ecf, 08 ecsf, 16' Finals)

2011 was not remotely a shootout :oldlol: The Heat barely cracked 100 points once the whole series

3ball is one of the dumbest posters in the history of this board. he constantly one-ups himself when it comes to stupidity and his irrational fanboy mentality.
he recently presented the argument that lebron diminished 2019 lonzo and ingram and thats why the lakers didnt do well.
what a ****ing moron.

A shootout is where both teams exceed their regular season ortg
2014 and 2017 were shootouts
But you're right - 2009 and 2011 weren't because lebron's teams achieved less then their regular season ORtg... This weaker offense didn't make the Magic or Mavs work defensively, so they had more capacity for offense and overachieve their regular ortg....
Ultimately, lebron's ball-dominance doesn't shift defenses/wear down teams like the ball movement he faces on the championship level, so opponents are always fresher with more capacity to go off offensively - this makes it seem like lebron's teams aren't playing defense, when really the opponent is just much fresher from not being on their heels defensively
Regardless of whether you agree with the previous paragraphs, the original point stands - MJ won with less PPG in 1996 because the Sonics were locking down defensively and made it a defensive series, whereas the 14' Spurs knew they could outgun the solved bron-ball and weren't worried about defense...
Mamba4life wanted to know why 96' MJ won the Finals by scoring less than 14' lebron, and that's why.

This has been explained to you on several occasions already, but it was the Cavs DEFENSE that was the problem against the Magic. Their offensive output was essentially on par with what they had averaged in the regular season. Their defensive numbers, in ppg allowed and DRTG were both significantly higher than what they averaged in the regular season

2007, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. All more than winnable. In those finals he went a fluky three for eight.

I thought you guys were satisfied with the 8 straight finals record. Not finding comfort in that arbitrary record anymore?

They've been wondering massively nowadays if he can still at least go for four straight finals before he finally retires from the league.
