View Full Version : How far would Krause's last attempt at a good Bulls team have gotten in the 2000s?

Krause wanted to prove he could win a championship without Jordan, Phil, and Pippen
before he retired he drafted Ron Artest/Metta world Peace, Elton Brand, Tyson Chandler, Jay Williams, Eddy Curry, etc
how far do you think this team would have gotten if they were given more time?

those were actually very good picks. they just didnt mature in time to make a mark in chicago.
Krause had talent.

Probably would be a perennial 1st round or 2nd round team

This
Maybe if you give Krause TMac like he wanted it would be competitive, but as someone else said the timelines didn’t match up well
Chandler didn’t really blossom until he left Chicago. JWill broke his neck his second year in the league. Eddy Curry could score but was a black hole offensively with 0 rebounding and defense.
McGrady, Brand and Artest May be pretty good though

A Brand/Artest core would be really good in the mid-00s, given a decent team and coaches around them. I'd say 2nd round/ECF ceiling for years.
And who knows, Kobe might've decided to join the Bulls after all if they had that core. Then he wouldn't die in that crash.
