Oh let’s not blame THAT

That Mavs team was low key one of the GOAT teams. Miami was actually the underdog we just didn’t know it at the time. Can’t blame LeBron

Funny to see that lbj, as part of the heat triumvirate, had a slightly worse team record in his first year there at 58-24.

Meanwhile, in the season prior to that or his last season with the cavs before his return there in 2014, the team finished with a 61-21 record.

However, having the homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs simply weren't enough to give them a finals appearance that year. Just like harden's rockets not appearing in the championship round two years ago with a franchise best 65-17 record.

Hey. Just because some of us live in a basement doesn’t mean our basketball opinion is worth less. Stop bullying us.

Wade ball doomed the heat in 2011. Good thing Bron ball prevailed in 2012 and 2013.

It’s crazy how people are so Lebron-obsessed that they completely disregard that this same Mavs team beat the Thunder that made the Finals the very next year, and SWEPT Kobe’s Lakers.

OP is Asian tho so we shouldn’t really take his basketball opinions seriously.

Heat was always Wade's team. He just gave in the driver's seat to let bran takeover tho.

He tried to steal a FMVP after being second fiddle all playoffs. Thankfully he smarted up for 2012 and 2013.

Game 2 was right out of a storybook. Never been a clutcher Finals comeback in 75 years.

rewatching the series, the Heat were dominating Dallas through the first 1.75 games. Like... they were clearly on a different plane.

I honestly feel like the Heat were in control of that series all the way through the end of Game 5, before the Mavs went on that run to end the 4th quarter to take the lead. Even the games the Heat had lost till that point, they had big 4th quarter leads both times, only to let them slip away to lose by one possession each time. It was around Terry's dagger on LeBron that the Mavs had finally established control of that series, and they carried that momentum into Game 6 where they comfortably beat Miami

They simply choked because of dallas's tight defense. That is all.

The Heats big 3 were in the first season together and hadn't really gelled yet. And Carlisle totally outcoached Spo.

LeBron said in an interview last year that the lost to the Mavs forced him to concentrate on "Mental fitness", realizing that being big and strong and fast wasn't always enough.

The killer for the Heat was game 4. Up 2-1, Wade scores 32, Bosh 24, Lebron 8....and lose by 3. If they pulled out that game they go up 3-1 with HCA the rest of the way. Don't see Dallas rebounding from that.

That Heat team wasn't really that good outside of the Big 3 IMO.

chalmers, mike miller, haslem, james jones etc. are not bad role players by any means.

were bill cartright, luc longley, steve kerr, and john paxson better by any real tangible amount? nope. (in fact they were worse)

fisher, vujavic, farmar, ariza? nope.

Thats one of the biggest myths about the cHeat.

Good question. You basically had a nonathletic old white man (Dirk) + other members of the AARP vs the Eastern Conference All-Stars.

The only way the East would lose that series is via injuries/suspensions/cramping.

Don't worry about other teams and superstars so much, this topic is about one of Bron's MANY faillures.. Kobe was already 5/7 and banged up, it's not about him. Lebron had zero, promised 7 because he knew he had Wade and Bosh. You know? Leave others out of this and just take it like we all took our idol's faillures. Be a man.

"superteam"

They did it by being fortunate that Year 1 of The Heatles was very tumultuous.

Have to remember that LeBron was one of the most hated people in the country at the time - booed absolutely everywhere - and the Heat were playing under unprecedented levels of scrutiny. On top of that Miami hadn't yet established clearly defined roles, and their coach did not yet install a system.

In short, they were lucky.

Dirk Nowitzki himself offered this as the reason in 2013:

"I guess we were lucky to have caught them in the Finals that first year."

Yup.
