Lions should've traded down, Lions always making bad picks.

With the No. 6 pick, the Chargers took quarterback Justin Herbert, of Oregon. He won the nation's student-athlete award of 2019.

With the 11th pick, the Jets draft Mekhi Becton, OT, from Louisville. He's 6-7, 364, and also played bball in high school, and is way more athletic than his big size/weight would suggest.
insidehoops
04-23-2020, 09:42 PM
At No. 12, the LAS VEGAS RAIDERS (!) draft Henry Ruggs, wide receiver, Alabama. He's 5-11, 188 and can RUN.

There's going to be some talent available at pick #51, but if I were in the Boys front office I'd be looking to trade up for an immediate contributor on defense.
We could still get a solid DB in the second round

Absolutely
The CBs we have now (Awuzi, Brown, Lewis) are all decent to "good" and we found them all in later rounds. Awuzi RD2, Lewis RD3...Brown RD6
we really do need a competent Center though...that needs to be figured out

either way it will be that much more entertaining to watch... We have power on Offense. Even if Cooper or Lamb gets injured at anytime in the next 4 years... we still have an elite #1 on the field.
We just need to make sure there's a season first... and RIP to Dak's brother, $hit is sad, and makes this draft steal bittersweet, but 2020 has been $hit from the start so we all just gotta fight through it.

I wanted Jeudy or Lamb, but can't be mad at Ruggs. Fastest WR in the draft and he actually has some skill, improving route runner and has great hands. I'll take it, since Cooper left we have had WRs who don't provide much speed, we need someone to stretch the field.
Not sure what to think of Damon Arnette, he's considered a reach, he's already at the age of 24, not an elite 40 time, but he can cover and is an excellent tackler for a CB, he allowed the lowest passer rating in man coverage in 2019. I would have been happier with the pick if we traded down and grabbed him.

He played 16 games last year, just received 128 million dollar deal last summer. This pick makes absolutely no sense. You don't take a QB in the 2nd round when you just paid your young QB tons of money to be your franchise QB.

It's a bad pick... but not horrible in my opinion... Only because Hurts is a really good QB that can step in and actually win games if Wentz is out for a few weeks, and you can always trade him later.
Sometimes it's good to invest in a back up QB.... Sometimes. Again, it's a bad pick, but not awful.

LMAO... we got the best WR in the draft.
I'm curious if the Cowboys tried to trade down with that pick. They were holding a ticket to a guy who many people thought was a top ten player in this years draft. They could have traded and picked up two or three quality picks in return. That would have really given restocking the defense a jump-start. On the other hand Jerry loooooooves his offense, so it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't even consider a trade.

admittedly I think Ruggs would've been the better fit on this team based on his speed, but Lamb will still give us some advantages that Ruggs would not be able to.
I had thought it was very possible Ruggs could slip to 17, but it ended up being Lamb... was wondering what the Cowboys would do in that situation.
We still have a few holes on defense, and could use about 2 more star players on that side of the ball, but now the offense has a chance to be elite.
I can see Zeke & Pollard and even Blake Jarwin benefitting from this very nicely.
Works out great because we've shown in the past that we aren't that great on offense if Cooper is off the field. Very good insurance policy to have on our $100 million dollar receiver.

Very happy how the draft went for the Raiders in day 2 & 3.
Bowden Jr - Versatile player, played QB while leading Kentucky in rushing yards and receiving yards, single handedly carried his team. Ran a 4.38 40 time. Gruden is gonna have some creative plays drawn up for him. Drafted as a RB which makes sense since we lack depth at that position.
Bryan Edwards - Big & physical WR, nice hands, able to win 50-50 battles, red zone threat. Teammate of Deebo who was very good as a rookie with the 49ers, both produced similar production playing together.
Tanner Muse - Probably my least favorite pick, high IQ player, fast, but a project. Will move to linebacker in the pros, will automatically make the team cause he can be an elite special teams player.
John Simpson - Elite run blocking guard, 6 foot 4 & 320 pounds, didn't allow a sack in 2019 with Clemson. 34 bench reps at the combine which was 3rd best for OL.
Amik Robertson - Many feel he was a steal at the 4th round. Small CB, but makes up with it with his physical play. Good instincts, rare ball skills, good against the run

They should have waited on qb. They needed a linebacker/edge more than a backup qb. It was foolish of them. They also passed up on Jefferson, who will be an elite WR. Reagor has speed burst but Jefferson is just a better all-around player. Eagles had a crap draft.

Here's the thing about the Jalen Hurts pick... it can be argued, in my opinion, that Hurts (OU) has the POTENTIAL to be better than Kyler (OU) and Mayfield (OU) who both went #1 overall. I'm not saying that is the case, but I think that debate can possibly be made.
Hell, after Joe Burrow, you may be able to put up an argument that Jalen Hurts was the next best QB on the board all things considered (Tua injuries). So if you have a player with an extremely high value based on your Best Player Available Ranking System, then it's not a horrible pick for Philly.
Had Dak Prescott's brother not passed away the night we drafted CeeDee, it wouldn't be outside the realm of possibility that Dallas took him there w/ the second pick, depending on where they had Diggs and others ranked. I wouldn't have been upset with that pick is all I'm saying. Shocked but not Upset.
Philly Fans should not hate this pick when you factor in the Wentz injuries... and that Nick Foles won a SB for them. It's more of a C+ pick in my book... Not an F, but there are $hit load of Eagle Fans that are outraged on youtube as if the pick was a complete train wreck. I mean seriously, do they not remember Super Bowl 52?
~primetime~
04-29-2020, 11:01 PM
Here's the thing though, by drafting Hurts they've guaranteed a QB controversy.
The moment Wentz puts 3-4 bad games together, half of Philly fans going to demand that Hurts start.
