Look to this, Micahel is in the league for 3 years and wins totals of 38 30 and 40 and yes we know one year he is hurt so the average of all those seasons equals out to 36. But then a rookie 1st year Scottie P is added to 36 win team and the boost jumps to 50 wins. in his rookie year. It is a note to make. that is a big boost of +14 wins as a rookie. mj rookie did not do this. neither did rookie lebron. be fair be straight forward and take the three seasons before the rookie come to the team and find the average (divide it by 3) . then see the win boost below

rookie mj boosted bulls from 30 to 38 (+8 boost)
rookie scottie boosetd bulsl from 36 to 50 (+14 boost)
rookie lebron boosted cavs from 25 to 35 (+10 boost)

they all put a good boost. but wow scottie did the biggest some how

30 Pippen topics a week.....

These Bulls docs have people losing their mind. Immediate "reactions" to try and disparage Jordan or go the other way with it

I'm curious how many Jordan/Pippen threads have been made since the first episode aired

Though I suppose there's nothing else to talk about

People still talking about the Jordan Bulls 20+ years later.

3 years from now will anyone even give a wet fart about LeBron?

It's hit this board hard because this is like a refuge for younger kids who try to live in denial and now are getting upset at how popular the documentary is and realizing how big of a deal Jordan is.

It wasn't just Pippen arriving. Grant also was drafted and they got a new coach in Doug Collins.

Working great, there won't be a documentary on LeBron in 10 years, let alone 20 because no one will care. Certainly not any kiddies. Yet here we are, Jordan and everything associated with him is still a hot topic.

I doubt anyone was unaware of that. Jordan hasn't done anything in 20+ years but he gets talked about more on the ESPN, FS1, etc. sports talk shows than any active athlete, outside of LeBron and Brady. He is like a drug the sports media can't quit.

Yeah let me clue you in to something many on this board sometimes live in delusion about the GENERAL PUBLIC wants to hear about Jordan. It's not something media makes up. People were dying to see this doc.

He is the GOAT in the broad public's eyes, the eight people here with 30 alts that try to deny it are just idiots wasting their time. In 5 years most people aren't going to care about LeBron ... younger fans getting into the game then will gravitate to someone new. Which maybe isn't fair, but who gives a sh*t about Shaq and Duncan today? That's just how it goes.

Kids today think Shaq is the goofy guy on the post-game show, not probably the 2nd most dominant player in his prime of the last 30-40 years.

Even Brady ... he's still playing. He and LeBron benefit from recency bias, watch 5 years after they've been retired they won't have anywhere near the same attention.

So what is your conclusion on this?

The only conclusion one can draw from the OP is that the 21mpg/8ppg rookie Pip's impact exceeded both rookie MJ and Lebron's on their teams W/L column.

Yeah let me clue you in to something many on this board sometimes live in delusion about the GENERAL PUBLIC wants to hear about Jordan. It's not something media makes up.

It is a self-perpetuating cycle. The media and corporations market MJ, MJ becomes insanely popular and a ratings draw and the ultimate pitchman, the media continues to feed at the trough and to do so keeps MJ hyped, MJ remains the consensus GOAT and a god-like figure, MJ keeps generating ratings and selling sneakers. Rinse, repeat. At some point this ends, though, whether it is 10 years from now, 20 years or 50.

He is the GOAT in the broad public's eyes, the eight people here with 30 alts that try to deny it are just idiots wasting their time

He is the GOAT in our generations' eyes. The younger generation has a large LeBron contingent. I will post a GOAT poll to see where things stand but I suspect it will be 55-60% MJ, 30-35% LeBron, Kareem around 10%, and then the rest split whatever is left.

In 5 years most people aren't going to care about LeBron

That's possible, that he goes the way of Shaq and is replaced by Giannis. However, it is not a certainty.

You seem very confident. So why are MJ stans as a group so insecure?

He and LeBron benefit from recency bias, watch 5 years after they've been retired they won't have anywhere near the same attention.

That is the way it works with all retired athletes--except one...

Seems like MJ didn't need much to start competing with the great teams.

At our McDonalds we work at we still care about LeBron and he hasn’t won a championship in along time. He will be okay.
