Sure John Wall has the longevity but IT has the historic scoring season and went further in the playoffs. What are your thoughts?

IT is and always was a liability on defense. At least Wall is a capable defender.

That liability didn’t really matter when IT dropped 50 on Wall’s dome and eliminated him from the playoffs

Kelly Olynyk eliminated the Wizards almost singlehanded in the 4th quarter of game 7.

It’s a team game obviously you need some teammates to produce. IT went off.

Better peak and playoff performer
They were both great in 2017. That was a fun series. I'd say IT was better that year but I am biased.

Think to this, LeDagger is eliminated three full years in a line row by John Wall. I dont think I can think to that, it is too funny. But then it is 'okay for' michael to have 3 years in a line with losing to Isiah. Weird and tough to understand

Well I mean yeah he was better than wall for that one year
Don't think that's enough to make him the better player though

Oh, well that is a good question. I will say...not sure. IT had a better single season over Wall but IT's team in Bosoton was better then Wizards teams I think

IT2 was an overachiever and i would say Wall has underachieved a bit but i would still take Wall. IT was a huge defensive liability but definitely better on offense than Wall.

I know he hasn't played for a while, but jeeze, people are quick to forget how good John Wall actually was/is.

Neither achieved anything particularly noteworthy but at the most important time when they ended up facing each other it was Isaiah who was victorious. Must go to Isaiah.

I used to get shit on for taking Kyrie over Wall. That was the discussion year back.
How far Wall has fallen.

John Wall, but that IT season and that playoff matchup was crazy. That king of the 4th shit was real.
But Wall is by far he better player over their careers. 20/10 guy at his best who can play at both ends, would've been interesting to see him on other teams.

What just happened to IT when he went to cleveland almost 3 years ago? He was supposed to replace irving's role there but i guess nothing good came out of this trade.

People are quick to forget how good IT was in 2017 as well. Dude was literally playing at a 16 Curry level offensively for a month or two that year.

Until he found himself being traded to cleveland for uncle drew during the very same year.

That was a different season. When I said 17 I meant the 16-17 season in this case. IT got hurt in late that season and I believe it became a big problem in the ECF, and he's never been the same since without that same athletic edge he had (he needed it at his height).

I mean yes but more or less, he wasn't the very same IT anymore ever since he departed boston. Could be due to the effect of that very bothersome hip injury of his as well.
Btw, would you consider that as his peak?

17 was obviously his peak, yeah. And the last year of his prime, but if he hadn't got injured I doubt that would have been the case. It'd be interesting to see how he would have done on the Cavs if he was still the same player as he had been in 2017. He probably could have replaced Kyrie offensively, at least in the regular season (Kyrie had a better track record against playoff defenses) but his defense would have been an issue against the Warriors. Not saying Kyrie was a good defender, but IT gets targeted constantly, and the Cavs already had one player (Love) that the Warriors consistently targeted. Would have had to try and outscore the Warriors, which would probably get ugly.

IT had the GOAT small man season. Nate Robinson, Mugsy, Spudd all never had seasons close to that

Calvin Murphy would be the only guy who had an argument I think. Of players under 5'10" that is.

Which is such a shame lmao. I guess people were looking forward to how well IT would do in cleveland that time and thus, on what could have been his first potential finals appearance but i guess all of that were short-lived tho since his recurring injury from the previous season greatly contributed to his declination and in a last minute roster overhaul of the cavs that season, he was sent to the lakers just a week before the 2018 all-star game.

This is one of those...who cares? In 10 years both will be an afterthought. Shit, they are almost afterthoughts now after injuries basically ended their careers. Neither were going to go down as noteworthy PG's anyway, though. Isaiah Thomas had this big shit season, but it was basically based off the fact that the league never calls a carry over and that allowed him to get to the line at will. John Wall is a great athlete and, at best, an above average ball player. I'd take Chris Paul this past season at 34 over both of them at their peaks....A complete pg on both sides of the ball who was the definition of clutch.

And? I didn't realize this a 1 vs 1 player game. Why do they field 5 players each have have 12 players on roster to play? It's a team game and you can't win alone, obviously. Don't respond to me if all you have is nonsense, wheels.

Generally it's Wall, but he never took the lead like Thomas did. And to be fair, Isaiah thrived in almost every situation he played until he the injury and trade.
John Wall is shockingly overrated. Is hurt by the fact that he isn't a franchise player, even for a season. But not only do people entrust him with being one, but he thinks he's that and more.
If he's your second best player you really want someone great ahead of him. As your best player, your team is unlikely to ever be a top 8 team in the league. I remember those who spoke of him being better than Rondo. Rondo didn't score, and for most of his career wasn't even a brick shooter, but Rondo could be your best player and you're competing against anyone.
Not remotely true for Wall.
