You had Lakers, Pistons, Spurs Dynasties all in the same time frame :biggums: then throw in Celtics return to glory in 08 and LeBron molding into a beast. 2000’s was wild when you think back

Have to agree. The defense was top notch and every team seemed to have atleast one star player. The hero ball was fun at times. But that defense was where it was at. Those pistons were holding teams to 60ppg :biggums:

The Pistons dynasty?
What?
You mean one championship?

We’re in the peak when it comes to the entertainment level of games. Offense is just a pleasure to watch.

Nope...NBA's Peak was 1983 to 1993

Late 80’s to early 90’s, and late 00’s to mid 10’s. Amazing balance, still some organic chemistry based teams over the stretches. Legends in their primes.
Early 00’s lacks legend depth past Shaq/Duncan/Dirk/Garnett. Playing styles stiff. Competition pretty good at times but not even then. Lakers basically swept a postseason, Spurs waxed everyone in 03.
Late 90’s probably had the least talent depth of any in the 3-pt era. Least enjoyable retrospectively. I’m sure people loved it at the time however.

2000's seemed to have a good overlap of stars from the previous generation and the new stars from this generation

Some all time great teams played during that time in epic rivalries between them. Plus there were some really stong teams like the Bucks, the Knicks and the Blazers as well.

Interesting take. Many feel that the league has become too 3point centric and created the opposite effect of being an entertaining product. Not to forget the AAU culture and lack of meaningful rivalries.

I tend to agree although I would push it 1996 to get Shaq and Penny's 1996 Magic team in there. 1982-'83 is absolutely the start to get the Doc and Moses' Sixers in there. Magic and the great Lakers squads, Bird, his 3 consecutive MVP's and the Celtics. The Lakers-Celtics rivalry, the Pistons slaying the Lakers and Celtics while holding off the Bulls, and the eventual rise of MJ, Pip, and the Bulls. This period was to me the Golden Era.

No question about it
Lakers-Celtics
Celtics-Pistons
Lakers-Pistons
Pistons-Bulls

00-10 era might be the strongest in league history talent-wise.
Lakers & Spurs made all the Finals but the '06 one, Kobe obviously made it 7 times
Had the Kings, Blazers & Timberwolves in the early 2000s, J.Kidd's Suns were no joke
Dirk's Mavs won 50+ games for a while there and could have easily won in 2006, went on to win in 2011
J.Kidd's Suns and KG's Timberwolves were strong in the early 2000s
Nash's Suns were the most talented team from 05-07
T-Mac & Yao's Rockets were great for a while but injuries happened
The Jazz with Deron & Boozer
CP3, David West & Peja on the Hornets
Melo's Nuggets
That's just the Western Conference alone, the East obviously wasn't as strong, but the Nets & Pistons held it down for a bit, Pacers could have won it all in 05 if not for the suspensions and Miami had that 06 season and then the Celtics, Cavs and Magic came along.
So many all-time great players & teams.

Early 2000s were BORING. Couldn't watch that dribble dribble dribble miss sequence that characterized the games.

I'm a spurs fan who grew up just before that era but the actual basketball was really boring. Teams seemed to start one or two guys who couldn't shoot to save their lives, always seemed like most offenses included tonnes of post ups and isolations.

Why would you say something like this? This isn’t even believable as an opinion. You would try and prop up Kobe so much to say his entire prime stretch was the most talented ever? What disease do these n.iggas have to behave like this?

These Kobe fans are walking parodies of themselves.
