What if poor KD was forced to say on a franchise (OKC) that loved him to death, got him great players in MVP Russ and MVP Harden with rim protection and rebounders like Adams and Ibaka, and decent wing defenders in Sefolosha and Roberson.

Poor KD :( Would he ever make a finals besides 2012 if he never teamed up with Warriors? What happens in 2017?

The National Basketball Players Association released the results of the players' votes for 14 individual awards and Teammate of the Year for 30 teams for the 2016-17 season. Awards were given during the 2017 Players Voice Awards announced via Twitter on Friday.

Oklahoma City's Westbrook, who was voted MVP by the media in June, also won "Hardest to Guard" and "Best Dressed" by the players.

Milwaukee's Malcolm Brogdon won Rookie of the Year honors just as he did from the media vote. But the players voted for San Antonio's Kawhi Leonard as "Best Defender" and Lou Williams as "Best Off the Bench." In the media vote, Golden State's Draymond Green won Defensive Player of the Year and Houston's Eric Gordon took Sixth Man of the Year honors.

Players voted San Antonio's Gregg Popovich as the "Coach You'd Most Like To Play For," Cleveland's LeBron James as "Player You Secretly Wish Was On Your Team," and Vince Carter as "Most Influential Veteran." Player voting took place at the end of the regular season and did not take into consideration playoff performances.

Hard to figure KD career without a 73 win team holding up his back end. Sure you can know all stars need a solid number two option, but KD needed Curry, which is a number one, as his number two to wina ring. So odd

Imagine if Harden hadn't choked in the Finals against Miami. Durant would of had gotten a ring, Miami probably would had been dismantled. And people wouldn't have known that Durant is the type to join a 73 win team after losing to them. The pain from losing two Finals in a row, especially after 2011 could had destroyed Lebron mentally, never being able to win even one ring ever. Crippled by 2011 type of deep anxiety whenever getting close. You have to be grateful, even with the 6 Final loses.

Al Horford joins the team, still young enough to play PF. They have Oladipo and then Sabonis to back up the bigs. They are favorites over GSW. Then they are homewreckers the following year after Oladipo gets his Westbrook influence And decides to be great. This offsets Russ’s decline in ‘18 and ‘19. Thunder probably win 2 of 3 and are absolved for the Harden trade.

No another 67-win team for the warriors, obviously and no more other two rings in 2017-2018 after they succumbed in the 2016 finals against the cavs.
