Imagine if Harden hadn't choked in the Finals against Miami. Durant would of had gotten a ring, Miami probably would had been dismantled. And people wouldn't have known that Durant is the type to join a 73 win team after losing to them. The pain from losing two Finals in a row, especially after 2011 could had destroyed Lebron mentally, never being able to win even one ring ever. Crippled by 2011 type of deep anxiety whenever getting close. You have to be grateful, even with the 6 Final loses.

Al Horford joins the team, still young enough to play PF. They have Oladipo and then Sabonis to back up the bigs. They are favorites over GSW. Then they are homewreckers the following year after Oladipo gets his Westbrook influence And decides to be great. This offsets Russ’s decline in ‘18 and ‘19.
