People were talking about Hakeem destroying Ewing, Shaq, and Robinson. The Dream averaged 35.6 ppg, 9 rpg, 5 apg, 2 bpg, 1.5 spg against Malone and his Utah Jazz. Karl also averaged 30/13 in that series.

And the Rockets were the 6th seed defeating the 3rd seed Jazz who won 60 games.

At 9:30 of the YouTube video I posted Hakeem has a monster chase down block on Malone. Start it at 9:25 on the video.

Dream's Peak!

He would have defeated Jordan's team in the NBA Finals.

So 4 coaches should have been fired that Summer?

4 teams won 60 games with two all time greats and underachieved again?

Suns won 59 and were a seed above.

Spurs had best record in the league with 62, in same division as Utah.

Orlando had 57, best record in conference, Shaq and Penny as absolute all-time studs and "the best starting 5 in the NBA".

So did the players. Jerry is higher on the goat coach list than any of those players are on the player list. We aren’t talking like....some all time elite players and a nobody coach. Malone, Stockton, and Sloan are all legends.

He's a legend because of them and job security like no other coach. Would have been fired several times with any other franchise. They were already great players under Frank Layden who was more of a comic than a coach and would have been great in any circumstance. Sloan wouldn't have as was proven in his previous stint with Chicago
