This is a good comparison. Both were 33 years old, both bulked up from the prior year(s), yet both remained explosive as hell.

'96 MJ moved like a dream. Could still get past the initial line of defense at will, quick as hell overall, stronger than ever before and was still a good leaper.

2018 LeBron to me is arguably his 2nd most athletic version post-Decision (2014 being #1). He could still attack the rim in the half-court with ease. Still a freak leaper and still remained a 1-man fast break (his last such season). I'll give him the nod over MJ because of his open-court dominance. He could capitalize on the slightest transition opportunity. Basically, if the opposition missed a shot, they would have to deal with LeBron. He was the bigger physical freak.

I think the records show 2018 lebron had all the records in 1 year better then all mjs best years. As lone player lbj has the stats. Michael has the winning. Better winner mj. Better player lbj

Easy era. Jordan would be averaging 40 in today’s game

Why didnt Curry then because I do see his 22 ppg in 2016 Finals. Why did he fail in his easy era? Not easy for all ... yikes

With or without PEDs?

I would say MJ is the better NATURAL athlete. Lebron is better if you factor science and medicine

Side bar questioning

Do we factor the people who are going to defend them?

Example secnario A

96 MJ guarded by Kawhi or Starks?
18 LBJ guarded by Kawhi or Starks

And so forth

Curry was injured. Plus the consensus is that Steph Curry wouldn’t have scored as much in previous eras.

MJ was guarded by Rodman, Drexler, Payton and McKey, so they're better options than Starks or Kawhi
